There is nothing to be scared of. When you die your brain shuts down, so you will _never_ know when you are dead. The logic and science of this is more accurate, reliable, and soothing than any crazed religious mysticism. Learn to focus on living a strong and good real life, and don't let the mystics disturb, brainwash, or scare you.
I wish you a happy and enlightened real life :-)

That's a hard question to get your head around, I am still trying!

I don't know how to explain it but I think there must be something after death - otherwise how can we remember stuff now, surely our conscious can't just cease? The easiest way I can rationalise this to myself is that our conscious loops from one life into the next. Although of course this theory means there would be previous lives, and you start getting into the whole psychic tuning into your previous life argument and when did your life cycle begin etc etc

Anyway, it's just one way to suggest maybe our conscience is reborn. You may never decide what you believe as no one knows for sure but you should not be afraid of death. There are only two things certain in life - death and taxes. It is ok to be scared of death - I think most people are, but you can't let it hold up living your life as it will happen one day - look at it as an adventure.

Good Luck!!

"Better to die one death, than imagine one thousand."

Your body, unless science makes some HUGE leaps, will expire. There are several scenarios:

1) The Big Sleep. Lights out, goodnight and God bless.

2) Ascension to your faith's spiritual realm, whatever that may be.

3) You reincarnate and recycle until you get it right and then get to ascend once enlightened.

4) Energy never dies, it just changes form. Maybe that form will be fuel in the form of worm food, that becomes food to a bird, that becomes the meal of a cat, etc....Maybe it's a soul.

In the end, I try to play it safe. I live my life by a moral compass that I believe should be okay by any diety that might hold me in judgement. Otherwise, the best I can do is try to enjoy this life while I have it, and die when it's time to die, not waste life on the idea of the death.

Wow you hit home with me,,i grew up with these thoughts all my life. I used to freak and panic, cry and i mean heavy. I'm 42 now and i got more comfortable with the thought of dieing. I read the American Standard Version of the Bible. The Bible is still the longest running #1 selling book ever and it took longer to write than any other book, ever,,,, almost 2000 years. Now i have faith in Christ although I'm not a textbook Christian, my life improved a lot after a self struggle of good and evil. If you really read it and read it one more time,,you'll have mood swings of guilt, bad and good. There are some quotes that stuck with me that made me faithful. Here are some that might help....."do not fall in love with the things of this earth" " The best feelings of even ecstasy are nothing compared to the "after life" we were given via the crucifixion of Christ. Do it. I hate reading too,,,but honestly,, do it.

If there is nothing after life then you have nothing to worry about. If there is something, then you need to live a life that you believe will get you into whatever you decide is the best spot in that afterlife. The decisions on the second option are your's alone. You can read all the holy scriptures of whatever belief system you want to come up with your happy answer. It likely would be best to check out all the beliefs, not just one group.

What about the life of an insect?, a bird? a fish ...

This is what life is. There is no need to expect human life is any differ than any other life, we are all DNA/RNA clones.

Important thing is to make this copy of clone be its best and enjoy the joy and experiencing the experiences.

Be yourself until you die, and after that, other clones will keep life go on.

This is life.

well thats the thing. nobody knows what lies after death. of course religion wise their is a heaven and a hell. but nobody really knows. so this is kinda like an open ended question. dont be scared though. just try to live your life to the fullest. family and friends first.

don't think about it.......
i have and many times iend up in tears. once i had a sleepover w/ my friend and she was over at my house. there was no one else in the room and the two of us somehow got over to the topic of death. we started freaking out b/c we both feared it so strongly. by the end of our conversation we were both shiviring, scared, and almost crying.
don't think about it, it will only cause u problem.s

and don't read things about death. istarted reading books by one author, Lurlene Mcdaniel. i fell in love w/ her tragic books. her books were about kids w/ all sorts of problems. cancer, tumors, death overall. at one point i started freaking out over every pain i experienced. i ended up going to the doctor a bunch of times.

overall, many problems humans experience r caused b/c of something sycological. don't think too much about it.

fear it if u must, but just work w/ wat u have and don't worry too much about the rest. after all, u'll cross that bridge when u get there.

good luck.

i have always struggled with...is there life after death? if so what religion is right? and those sorts of questions... worrying excessively about something that normal people worry about sometimes is a sign of generalized anxiety disorder...

i am on meds for mine and now i rarely care about all that stress, worry, and questions.......

before i would make myself sick thinking about it.... talk to a pyschiatrist...and a therapist......

good luck!
