The secret to a flat stomach- Lie on your back, lift up your legs and while doing so raise the upper half of your body in that direction. Stay like this for as long as you can. Do multiple sets.
Everyone has abs, but in many cases it is hidden under a layer of fat, you need to eat healthy too.
If that doesn't make sense just try a variety of ab workouts, sit-ups, crunches, twists, etc. Also, I do 50 sit-ups every night(its been maybe 2-3 months) and I have gotten 33 percent better. Before I could do 30 in a minute and now i can do 40. Also, it is anatomically not possible to have a completely flat stomach because of organs, maybe if you dont eat the day of your bday you will have a completely flat stomach....your idea should work though, just try incorporating more ab work outs.

Sit ups can help with stomach muscles. Push ups will help build arm and chest muscle, which is essential in burning fat. But doing those two things alone and eating right isn't enough to burn the belly fat.
You should mainly focus on doing cardiovascular exercises. If you can't afford a gym, then do some brisk walking and build up to a small jog. Get an aerobic DVD and work out with that. You have to work on your entire body in order to see all around results, including your stomach.
The important thing of all...never give up! :) Good luck

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

Some of that stuff on your belly is not fat. See fastest weight loss. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event.
Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Push ups and sit ups are more for gaining muscle tone than reducing fat, try mixing them along with more sustained exercise such as jogging, swimming etc. Those exercises are more likely to reduce the fat and the push ups and sit ups will give you the muscle toning to go along with the reduced body fat.
