i know i am. There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she's blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He's always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend.
Her boyfriend asked her, "now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend is blind too, and refused to marry him.
Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying. "Just take care of my eyes dear."

This is how the human brain changes when our status changes. Only a few remember what life was like before and who's always been there even in the most painful situations.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Life Is A Gift
Today before you think of saying an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.

Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children - Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another -
Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.

Happy Christmas, Sarah! I feel deeply, deeply grateful, as two days ago my son was very nearly killed by a trailer truck with bald tyres which was speeding and failed to brake at a roundabout. One split second and some quick thinking acceleration made all the difference between life and death. The car is a write off, but my son is alive. How we are rejoicing in that fact this Christmas and in God's merciful providence. That is the best Christmas present I ever had! Life is to be appreciated and used to the full. How can we waste time complaining?

God bless you.

I applaud you for your thoughs here ...since the world..we call society feel you have to satisfy ones self...and the thought of Christmas is giving gifts...Today I told someone when asked if I had gotten them a gift...I said you should be thankful for what you have gotten all year...as well...who's birthday is it anyway...Now I can't say rightly (according to the bible) that Jesus was born on Dec. 25 but if there is a time to celebrate...might as well be now...since any other day has not been shown or proven...

Thank you for showing that the time is come that people reckognize the need to glorify God not for what he can do for us,...BUT JUST FOR WHO HE IS TO US...God bless

I too am thankful that Xmas is over. Its the biggest load of crap ever. The falseness will now end. The "christians" can stop claiming its their time of year and their event and preaching to the rest of us.

In regards to your story, I take it has been made up with no evidence of being real, just like the "bible".

Thank you sister and yes I am very thankful to our Almighty God for His Grace. Very Thankful for what Jesus did on the cross for me. Thankful for His Love and Mercy that endures forever.

When the spirit of oppression or depression comes I put on the garment of praise. I praise the Lord! And it all gets lifted up.

Isaiah61:3
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”

Nice sentiments but even at Christmas they fail to penetrate my veneer of cynicism and bitterness.
