yes i understand exactly what you are saying. for that reason i do not believe in the adam and eve story...it is also sexist because it points out that man came first, another cause to not believe....
and then your question again...in the bible god and everyone has very humane qualities..
i don't believe god is in any way human but rather a force by which we live...oh and its too complicated to breifly explain but all i'd like to say to you that is very much relevent to your question is that it causes me much puzzlement to see tenets such as these blindly accepted as god's word or doing when it was man who wrote them...
i do not hold them to be of any importance or significance in my life.
no man can tell me what god does or what god did or what god wants...i believe if you are skeptical about this then use your own knowledge and insight to see the real meaning of things because i assure you your own insight is far greater than what others can impose upon you...take their thoughts into consideration surely but when you find them illusive and lacking sense then dismiss them...
ps. a fine example of what i am saying is the responses from other people to the same question...se how they contradict each other...this only proves that all this is based merely on interpretation and we as an educated society should be able to use our own intellect and reasoning---one reason i praise deists...although i am not one myself i choose to not specifically and entirely affiliate myself with one religion...
some answers are quite ridiculous and i hope you pick up on that...i applaud you for the insightful question...those who will curse you for asking are myopic individuals whose sight is limited

Actually, Adam and Eve were only under a couple of specific laws at the time. Genesis 1:28 to be one and of course Genesis 2:17 came a bit later.
However, the fact that they were perfect also cause the longevity of the years they lived. For instance Adam lived to be 930 years.
Because of being so close to perfection the fact that, for instance, Cain and Able had relations with their sisters would not necessarily cause the offspring to be 'insane, for instance.
They had to carry out the divine mandate at Genesis 1:28 and did so within the divine guidelines at the time.
At the time of the divine mandate there was no such thing as incest. Incest was much, much farther down the road and was part of the Mosaic Law.
Leviticus was written by Moses in 1512 BCE
and Adam was created around 4026 BCE
Now you can see that there was alot of time between those two dates.
To be succinct: Incest didn't exist then and you can't take todays laws and make them apply when you want.

In Chapter one, God created mankind. In Chapter two God created Adam and Eve.
Adam and Eve are the ancestors of one genetic line. If you read further, Cain went and took a wife. She was not a relative.
The Bible also tells of how Angels (?) took the daughters of men as wives and created giants.
I believe that the so called cavemen were here before (Chapter One) Adam and Eve (CHapter two). The intermarriage and wiping out of certain people made the cave men extinct.
But then there is the question about Noah. His family was the surviving family of the flood. However, they moved to various parts of the earth after the flood. But they were not blood related.

Yes, we all came from Adam and Eve. What you have to keep in mind is, back in Adam's day they were perfect! There was no concern for sickness or death. After they went against God and did eat the forbidden fruit, that is when imperfectness begin to take place. It has took over six thousand years for us to become so imperfect. Adam's children had to take siblings as mates, because there were no other people. If Adam and Eve had not of sinned, God could of very well made a helper for their children, just as he did for Adam. After they had populated the world pretty good, God did forbid such acts.

Possibly. Now, if Adam and Eve had children, their children would have children. That means that Adam and Eve would be grandparents. Now, their children would've gotten someone else in marriage. Now, the two would be in-laws. Then, when they have babies, both Adam and Eve would actually been grandparents. I don't know how the process goes because I'm only 11, so look for a genealogy in the Bible.

There is a possibility that there were other people God created on Earth when He created Adam & Eve. but yes, we are pretty much all descendants of incest. Cain got cut off after he killed Abel, and Adam & Eve had a kid names Seth. i'm pretty sure they had 7 daughters too. i wouldnt want to marry my cousin or anything, but incest wasnt considered wrong then. the idea that it is wrong came because if u hav kids with a close relative and there is a genetic disorder gene somewhere in ur DNA, its a whole lot more likely that the kids will be messed up.

If christians would stop with their simplistic literal interpretations and try to understand the symbolism in their creation mythology they may actually begin to develop deeper spiritual understanding.
Every culture has creation mythology and stories of a great flood. So if you consider that humans began to become "self-aware" (creation) all over the world about the same time-period and that all cultures had individuals that survived the great flood maybe then you can gain some perspective.
As for incest. It has to take place for any species to evolve into greater population numbers no matter if one looks at it from a religious or a scientific perspective.

The first world of Adam and Eve was destroyed and this is a new created world and every man should have his own wife and that in this world it took us away from the incestous life of the old days.

The truth is that incest was not a sin in the days of Adam and Eve and they had many children and their children intermarried. They were so close to perfection that it did not cause deformations as it would today since we are the products of many years of accumulated sinfulness.

Since God made Adam and Eve He made them perfect. Incest did not harm them in the first few hundreds of years of pro-creation. God gave the law of morals to Moses to pass down to future generations. After God gave the laws to Moses then it became immoral and a sin to sleep with kin.
