The puppy was a Chihuahua X Shih Tzu Hybrids. She inherited mostly everything including Chihuahua’s temperament except the ear is Shih Tzu’s.She is now doing crate training; so I had 2 let it out at home for some time in the day. But when I let her out, she keeps running like a wild horse or sniffing the floor, but I can’t get her attention to me. She was so busy that sometimes even I hold a treat in my hand, she just simply don’t care when I call her name (Not Always). Another problem with her is she biting the leash that I hooked 2 the collar and sometimes trying 2 take off her collar by shaking or scratching. She looks like she dislike the leash and the collar but she still need 2 put it on! I heard of others dog walk their master, but in my case, she is biting and pulling the lead backwards from the direction I am facing, trying 2 stop me from going. I also tried 2 train him 2 sit, but after a few times, she sat down without my commend and waiting for me 2 give her treat (dry food).

never treat a puppy with food. Only food for dogs older that seven or eight months.

spray the leash with bitter apple. Take the dog for a small run to get some energy out of her. get the energy out before you try to train. Its like taking a three year old and sitting them down right after a snickers and trying to teach them their abc's. get the energy out first. Teach the puppy to do something like catch.

What do you expect the dog to do when it has been in a cage for most of the day? This crate thing is just a way people can be lazy about taking care of their animals. Naturally it will go nuts if it is being kept immobile all day. Thats also why you cant train the dog to do anything else like walk on the leash or learn to sit. If the dog cant be a part of your family and be free then I suggest you rethink having a dog. It is a living being not a toy to be trotted out of its cage for your amusement whenever you feel like it. If they kept animals like that in small cages for most of the day in a zoo there would be an uproar about it but because its a dog its ok. And remember its a baby at 14 weeks and will have to be shown something over and over and over for a while before it learns it. Try taking some time and have some patience...the dog has to trust you before it will want to please you.

I also have a small dog. I have a Bichonpoo. You need a lot of patience. He is just a baby. At 14 weeks you are not going to have an Eisenstein. Keep working with the collar and leash when he bites it tell him firmly (without yelling) "no" and push his mouth off of it. Sit will come with time. Repetition is important. It will take a few weeks at this age but if you keep repeating the command and showing him what you expect he will soon understand. Also as he matures his attention span will improve. My dog is 5 months old and still has a limited attention span.

Hybrid? sorry, you have a mixed breed.......nothing hybrid about it. When you are trying to teach a pup something, and they do it without you giving a command.... reward them anyway.... good behave should always be rewarded.

As far as pulling on the leash..try bending down just a little bit....a little more to her level and say "Let's go Let's go" (kind of excitedly) and keep walking. When they follow, praise and reward. I would recommend at LEAST twice a day for about 15 minutes. (or every time you take her out for the bathroom)

She's a puppy, and she's going to act this way. The best way to turn a puppy into a well-heeled dog is through obedience classes. I suggest "puppy kindergarten" classes to get her going in the right direction. As a chihuahua mix, she's going to need this type of conditioning, as they tend to like things on their terms.

Sorry.

Good Luck.

I don't know about small dogs, like Chihuahuas and Shih Tzus.
