The body naturally produces milk during pregnancy IE: lactation. You cannot stop lactation without a pill and most Drs don't give it anymore and I doubt they would even give it to a pregnant woman at all.

It really depends on how healthy and strong you really are. Although nursing may not harm your fetus or your nursing baby, you may literally feel that you are being torn apart. Your fetus will not lack for anything because even if you don't ingest enough folic acid, iron, calcium or any other vitamins and minerals, they will be taken out of your own stores and therefore leave you in a weakened state. And in addition to this you have the nursing baby who also demands your nutrients. So, you either have to really be on top of the prenatal vitamin stuff and eat and rest really well, or consider to stop nursing for your own health is at risk. In addition after you hear everyone out. ask your doctor.

She can continue. By 20 weeks pregnant the milk will change and her nursing baby will wean naturally. You can do it early if you want, but you don't have to. Your body has this natural process built in to help the child you are carrying.

i know for a fact that nursing while you are pregnant WILL NOT harm your unborn child. you should be able to nurse right up until delivery without any harmful affects on your unborn baby.
