Asking GOD into your heart is NOT enough. We need to follow what we are told to do in the New Testament (not just a small phrase from it). We are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. I hope that you have a great holiday season!!

I think I was about 12 years old when I asked God into my heart. However when I got to be a teenager I went my way and did "my own thing". I became an alcoholic and Satan had me bound by alcohol and I could not quit on my own no matter how hard I tried. Then one day 5 years ago I went to church and fell down at the altar and asked God to break the bonds that Satan had on me and forgive me for wasting so many years in the hands of Satan.
5 years later and I have never wanted nor had the urge to tatse alcohol. Praise God I'm free.

I always believed in God and assumed he was there since baptism when my mother asked God into my heart for me because I was not old enough to speak (6 months) so I never ask God.
I asked God again when I was in 8th Grade during my confirmation. That was me asking God versus my parents.
God has been in my heart since I was 6 months old.
I fell away from God for 4 years. Asking questions to see if he's really there. Then I just took the leap again, I was scared and asked God in my heart again and to work with me and help me never to stray again when I was 21.

I invited Jesus Christ into my heart when I was 17 The best thing I ever did. I look forward to meeting him face to face soon. I have always loved God from the time I was told God is real, around age 2. I am so happy to be a Christian, my joy is endless. The peace is awlsome

I was convinced in my teen years by a Baptist (my sister) that I must accept Jesus, and this was a new thing to me because the church I was raised in never mentioned any acceptance being necessary. I only found out many years later why it wasn't, and that is because man can never be looked at as the author of his own salvation. A "decision" would by definition give man authority over God himself, and place God in an asking/begging role. The truth is that man can do absolutely nothing to save himself, and this is what "acceptance" implies to me -- a transaction that puts man in charge. "Asking Him in" then is at best an Arminian's first error, since no one would be praying any prayer in the first place if faith had not already been given.

I was very young when I realized that I wanted God in my life. I was never taken to church but sought out answers to my questions. I went to Pentacostal services and Catholic masses as a teenager (not simultaneously) and eventually started to really question the nature/existence of God and the purpose of religion and all that stuff. I then realized that God would only come into my life (He was always in my heart) when I was ready for Him, and by 18 I was ready for that to happen.

I'm going to answer: 2 yrs. old. Oh, and now, I have something to say to Theres No God, Gastounet, Moraies Fate and everyone that denounced the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:
You people are blind. You just want to put those who believe RIGHT down. You stiff-necked people yourselves are blinded by Satan and all his ways. You refuse to let he who is worthy into your heart. He who bled to death for you into your heart. He who died for you into your heart. Now, by your attitude, it's already too late. You do still have a chance. But you're are too much into your ways in order to serve the true God anymore. If you are going to make a comment about Christianity, then you might as well put it on a question that brings up the topic of not believing in God.
I guess what I'm saying is: STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM THESE QUESTIONS AND FROM THE ONES THAT BELIEVE IN THE ONE TRUE GOD!
