most guys are like that...they want to show that they are cool around u and that u will stay with them even if they are jerks to u around there friends....it would be funny if u hardcore slap him or just walk away from him when he acts different...then he will realize that he isn't treating u right...and his friends will make fun of him because he cant keep a girl......its not you...so dont worry....

Wants to be cool around his friends. Straighten this out or find someone that does not have to put on a front. But if he treats you bad when around friends later it might just be for another reason. These are the things that you find out and leave other halfs for when dating.

My guy friends do that. It's really confusing/annoying, no? They're trying to be cool around their other friends, such as treating me like I'm needy or retarded or whatever you like. That's all fine and well, but I personally don't like it. What do you do? You tell him to quit it. Tell him it's really hurting your feelings. And if he call you a ninny or whatever, you don't hang out with him and his friends. You'll notice he stops it. Or he just didn't want you around. Which is never good when the guy is your boyfriend.

i would say he is a piece of crap boyfriend... if he acts different around you then with his friends he is just trying to act cool.. and not worth it. there is other fish in the sea. so dont worry about him. find yourself a good man

Obviously he has conflicting loyalties. Pleasing his friends is more important to him than pleasing you. And when he has to choose between the two, then he chooses to please his friends instead of you.
If you don't feel comfortable with being in the second place, then find another boyfriend who will treat you like a queen.

My boyfriend acts like that because his friends are very immature and he doesn't like them all up in our business.

unfortunately guys have a problem with letting their homies see them in a position where they might seem weak. i think that you should ask him why he acts that way and let him know that you won't stand for it because you deserve so much better!
