It depends on who gets elected. But no matter who's elected I doubt very much that Iraq will remain the way it is. It seems that both Republicans and Democrats are shying away from bush's polices for the area. So even if a Republican president is elected, and he decides to keep troops in Iraq his strategies will be nothing Bush's.

It does depend on who gets elected but major changes will indeed come troop movement back to the states will be big in the 08 election that will be the focus you can bet on that too much has come out over the last 6 years, something will be done if not sooner. Now I can say that will most likely maintain a military presence in the middleeast but with any luck the masses of troops will be home

Most likely nothing....the democrats have already made it quite clear they are not getting us out of Iraq and are even in favor of increasing troop levels and funding for the war. At this point in time the strongest candidate I see for the Democratic party is Hillary Clinton and she is pro war....and will most likely be the next president.

I believe the reality of the situation is that we will never get out of that country so long as it is up to our politicans, and it will continue in a downward spiral until the people get so fed up with it that the government is forced to pull out and leave a huge mess behind them. Historically the kind of occupation we have in Iraq just dosn't work....it always leads to extended conflicts that strain resources and the troops. The moral of the military will eventually drop and public support will drop, making it even more difficult to come out in a better position than when we went it.

All and all...it is a very bad situation...and my prayers go out to all those who are serving and all those who have served. Try and have a Merry Christmas.

We will pull out, because Americans are a bunch of sissies.

Having served in Iraq myself I can tell you it isn't nearly as dangerous as the media makes it sound.

Anyone who thinks we are losing in Iraq probably hasn't been there.

there will happen nothing as long usa admit their wrongdoings in iraq and recall all their troops back to usa.usa also has stop backing up israel in terrorising palestine and take away their rights, their lands, and their home.usa claim to make the world a better place to stay but not for the palestinians, iraqis, afghanis, and lebanese, but just for the people who scared of america.

Probably nothing much that would have happened if Bush stayed in office - he blew it when he decided to reorganize their military - that never made any sense. We should have pulled out shortly after we got rid of Sadam.

Good Luck!!!

Republican - Same or increased numbers of troops.
Democrat - Same or reduced numbers of troops.

As far as the Iraqi insurgent side, probably, a continual increase in violence.
