Er, why would I try to disprove that he exists? The fact that there's no evidence for a god pretty well takes care of that for me.
And of course as an atheist, I do NOT believe there's a god. It's the Christians of weak faith who claim that atheists secretly believe.

1) Try a less provocative approach such as the avatar name being changed.
2) Atheists have to try as hard to prove there is no God just as homosexuals try to disprove and discredit Christians for the same reasons while calling believers "ignorant, stupid, doing harm to the world," besides other derogatory, bigoted and profane insults. Being Godless, their real spirit is revealed every time. Not an appealing advertisement for a lack of worshiping the one True God is it? It shows they will likely never believe God for or recieve a miracle, especially the miracle of Him living in our hearts. So sad.
3) They believe in a god, themselves. It's called secular humanism, their religion. It's just opposite everything God is and stands for therefore it isn't original but a pattern opposite of worshiping the one True God of heaven and His son Jesus Christ. If they are their own gods, they can do what they will to serve their own purposes and justify any rebellion against the laws of God in their minds. (see references to being deceived)
4) Reasoning will never convince them there is a God, heaven, hell or judgment. Only the Holy Spirit will be able to do so. They must first choose to serve something bigger than their created selves which they cannot take credit for. Man has never yet imitated any of God's creation works. Never. Cloning wouldn't even come close.

You have either made a gross error in typing your question or you are very ignorant to the meaning of Atheist.
I'll answer the "why" portion of your question. "..why try to disprove that He (God) exists [?]"
You must understand first of all that there is no attempt to try and prove that God does not exist... an atheist takes that on face value, as if by faith, but realistically for lack of any credible evidence that God does exist. There is nothing to prove... do you see? And, it's pretty much known that there are no logical ways to prove or disprove the existence of God and, therefore, any questions of that nature are merely put forward by an Atheist who might be doing so to encourage new thinking on the part of the believers of God - you might think of these questions as being "gifts" of opportunity for you to try out reason and logic, as challenges from the Atheist to the God-believers given to act as stimulants for the growth of those who suffer with religiously retarded minds.
But "why do so" and "why care about another's belief" is apparently at the root of your unanswered curiosity, so here are some of the answers but by far not nearly all of them....
Some atheists may be concerned that the God-based religions are too politically powerful and that their wielding of political might is misdirected at the expense of others. For example: The influence of religion in government has added the words "in God we trust" to all of the US currency and it has added the words "under God" to our Pledge of Allegiance. In addition, there continue to be "Christian only" provisions and "anti this and that" laws which remain steadily in place at the core of several of our state government constitutions. Things like, gays cannot wed or adopt children, and atheists cannot run in elections or hold high government offices are concerns for Atheists. Perhaps you can see why atheists and other groups might find that this is a valid reason for asking you to rethink your beliefs. Oppressiveness is both immoral and inhumane and lobbying to legislate it is out-right Hitlerian.
I personally have little difficulty with the political strength or weakness of a religion, (although I probably ought to be more concerned by it.) Instead, I feel compelled to look at the individual believer and see someone who has doggedly failed to surrender to his own logic and reasoning - something that I find utterly appalling. My personal pet peeve is ignorance. I personally attempt to encourage God-believers to expand their knowledge of the real world and accept the reasonable accomplishments of the sciences over their flawed faith based ideas.
There is another reason that I would like to mention, a concern that has atheists increasingly motivated (figuratively) to get at the throats of God-believers and that reason is to help pave the way for world peace by eliminating the belief in God as another motivation for people square off and fight. You must certainly have become aware that war has been fueled in the name of religious difference more frequently than for any other reason and you must also have learned that the bulk of this has been primarily at the hands of the God-based religions. This, too, is a valid reason to ask the faithful believers to re-examine their tenons and encourage that they ask themselves if what they believe as Holy and truthful is in fact so... and is it a worthy reason for war.
I hope you will read through this answer several times... I also hope you will also listen to the lyrics of the song by John Lenon, "Imagine." You may well be familiar with it, but have you considered why it was written and why it has been heralded as well as it has.

You misunderstand, as usual.
We don't have to disprove he exists, because he doesn't exist.
It is up to YOU to provide proof that supports your claim that he exists. And you can't.
See how elementary logic works?
I can explain it in smaller words to you if you still can't get it but quite frankly, I get a migrane just trying to think down to your level...

Because 99.99% of the time we're forced to do so by people like you who ask stupid questions like this over and over, ad naseum.
Here's an idea to all who want to force their religion on others:
Worry about your own soul! And we'll worry about ours!
LEAVE US ALONE!

Because Christians keep trying to invade the schools and teach their delusional nonsense to my kids. And even worse, they try to invade science classes with the most unscientific garbage that is out there.
We have to defend reason.

Because of the threat theists pose to progress, science, culture, basic human decency...
If theists stopped hurting the world, atheists would have no problem with theism.
