court for it. The original amount was not that large, but the court fees late fees etc, has almost doubled it, what can they do legally on this UNSECURED debt? His ex wont pay.

If the credit card is in his name then he is responsible regardless of who charged it. He could try and go after her AFTER the fact but as it is now... he should cancel the card, pay the fines and move on. Or as I mentioned before after canceling and paying go after her for damages.

If she wasn't listed as a second person on the account then the only thing he can do is take her to small claims court (depending on how much the bill is... small claims does have a set dollar amount limit). Otherwise, he's screwed!

Basically if it is in both names,he is responsible,unless he goes bankrupt

He is just as responsible as she is. someone has to pay.
