I have a friend that was introduced to a guy by a mutual friend and they are already engaged after a month. I understand why she accepted because she's tired of being screwed over by guys but him? Now they're planning on being engaged for a few years until after college to get married. Guys normally DON'T want to get married fast and I'm 24 and I know I wouldn't do that without really knowing a person... I just want to know if anyone has any ideas I can't think of as to why a guy would want to marry her so fast and so young?

How about an 18 year old college football player meeting a girl for the first time at a party while she was on a date with another guy and then asking her to marry him just two weeks after that meeting? Then getting married with in one year's time when all their friends said it was a terrible idea and would never last. I'm not so sure how long it will last, we've only been married for 25 years now. Two additional notes, never had any problems dating or insecurity issues before I met her and we didn't start having children until we were married over four years. We just fell in love, we still are in love.

In a way, they're made for each other because they both sound like very needy people. But that is a disaster waiting to happen if they get married.

She has all the rights of a wife, the marriage is legal as both parties are above the minimum legal age. No govt. worldwide has given a maximum age for marriage. Yes, she does have a case, and it is better that your cousin does an out of court settlement, and does a legal divorce, as the marriage is legal and binding, inspite of the age difference.

sounds like he's insecure. A lot of relationships that start this quickly also quickly break up. And they have a higher incidence of violence involved. Tell your friend to steer clear!

Becasue she's hot, and he is insecure and wants to keep her for himself. Plus she probably does anything sexual that he ask her to do. So he's not giving that up.. Plus she's young and naive and she believes anything he tells her. He wins, and she get's a trailor park life.. I give them 3 years.
