is it possible that my girlfriend be pregnant after having unprotected sex during her 1st day of her menstrual period? i thought, the safe time to have unprotected sex without having the risk of pregnancy is 5 days before and after her period. can a girl be pregnant if she had sex during her period? thanks! hoping to read your answers soon.

sperm can live inside a woman for over a month (theres no way to avoid it except being smart and using a condom)

No, noy at all. You say 5 days after your period. So lets say you are on a 28 day cycle. You get your period and it lasts 6 days. Then you have sex 5 days after that. That means you are having sex on day 11 after the first day of your last period. Eventhough day 14 is your most furtile, sperm can live inside you for a number of days, so having sex 3 days before would definately be a risk if you don't want to have a pregnancy. Only do this if you are preared to be a mother, otherwise wear protection.

Ovulation can happen at any time, so any time you have unprotected sex without another form of contraceptive you risk creating a pregnancy.

five days after is so NOT safe.....the 9th to 16th days are the most fertile.......however those little guys can live for five days inside a woman so do the math, its risky. The first day of period is fine, the entire period is fine. When counting the first day of her period is day one.
