I am a christian, but I would rather give a thumbs up, and atheists give a thumbs down, what a funny question...lol. As far as who's better, it would depend on who's standards you are measuring by. These two groups of people have very different standards, sometimes. As a christian, only one standard matters to me, and those are God's, and am I meeting them. If so, then I am a happy camper, because he knows best how life works, and holds it all in his hand anyway. Also, he is kind enough to let us each decide, when he has the power to force us to do whatever he wants.

Neither. That is my answer to your question. And I'm Christian.
The answer is neither because:
1. No one is perfect; both are subject to a wide array of an audience.
And because of this, most people will have a religion. But, nobody
can really follow every single example because we are all sinners:
Atheists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Scientologists (Tom Cruise!) and others.
2. Each religion has its ups and downs; just like us, religions may have right or wrong aspects on things. Christianity has its faith that a savior has come and that one day they will be brought to heaven. Atheists believe in nothing. They stand for nothing and fall for everything. Now, I'm a Christian and that's how I feel. Those are the ups. Now, the downside of Christianity is because you never know whether or not you're believing blindly. But it's through your faith.
3. It's your decision; no religion can be better than another. It's nearly impossible. What ever you wanna believe, you wanna believe. Whether you serve God, Jesus, Allah, Atheios, that god of Scientology, Vishnu or Hawk Man.
I think that people asking stuff like this are being jerks because they want everyone to be on their side. I just hope that one day you'll see the light.

Better really is a relative term.
Adolph Hitler = Christian
Benjamin Franklin = Atheist
Jimmy Carter = Christian
Joseph Stalin = Atheist
You decide. The character of a man (or woman) is far larger than their chosen theology. Muslim terrorists and Christian crusaders all believe is God, while (atheistic) Buddhism is almost exclusively pacifist.
It's a complicated issue.

Had my first doubts about the existance of God at age 7. Arrived at the conclusion that there is no God at age 11. Never engaged anyone in a debate on the subject. That's their business. Most people do believe in God. Most people are in debt and hate their jobs and don't lead fulfilling lives. You have a much greater chance for success if you can see things for what they really are.
It's a waste of time trying to educate others. People very seldom learn anything that they don't figure out for themselves. I look at it as an advantage. I prefer being in the minority that gets it.

"better"? Not a word I would use. If there is an afterlife, Christians probably do better, but for mankind, atheists are "better".
Btw, "damndirtyapes212" answer is similar to what Religious Extremists say about everyone of a different religion. They suaully say "believers" are the only ones who are happy and all the bitterness, sadness, poverty, sickness, etc. in the world is caused by non-believers. Its quite funny (to me).

It surely concerns to me. human beings of monotheistic faiths oftentimes sense a could flow around telling human beings what's appropriate and incorrect and attempting to shape regulations - often against the ethical consensus of the inhabitants. They try this, and are listened to, no longer oftentimes via any moralistic or logical argueing, yet ordinarily because of the fact a e book written an prolonged time in the past from a in actuality lifeless subculture in a lifeless tongue says so. I haven't any difficulty with human beings having own faith - it somewhat is basically somewhat often it has a tendency to come again with a desperate could implement their perspectives on anybody else. faith did no longer look so innocuous that dreadfull morning in enormous apple six years in the past, did it?

You ask who is better, an atheist or christian.
You do not specify what you are concerned that they are better at?
Most of your biggest sports stars like to thank God for their abilities.....
Most atheists complain on the Internet.
Most Christians lead happy, fulfilling lives
Most atheists are dark, bitter, and lonely individuals.
Most Christians have a peace about them.
Most atheists are always on edge, looking for an argument.
If you are looking for a serious answer as to who would live a happier life I would have to say Christians in general are happier than atheists in general.
If you are just trying to stir up controversy, why don't you just suck on a gun barrel and make the planet a little better for the rest of us?/
