This is really about the validity of using so-called expert witnesses. The scientific method, in which a scientist develops a theory which is then subject to peer review, is completely different to the Law which needs things to be True or False. Science is grey, not black and white. When Professor Meadows was asked to present his opinion he spoke honestly about his own views on the subject. It doesn't matter that he was wrong, very wrong, only that he has a perfect right to hold those views. What is wrong with the system is that the prosecution can stand up someone as an Expert Witness and whatever they say is held up as an undeniable Fact. There should instead always be a panel of expect witnesses to reflect the whole current consensus on an issue.
