where is the tattoo?? it does matter when considering healing. my foot tattoos take more than two weeks. while my back tattoos only take 10 days. as long as the tattoo looks good and isn't infected and is progressing on the healing just keep taking care of it the way you are supposed to. if you are worried about it you can go to your doctor but i don't know what they could do for you.

There is really nothing you can do to make your tattoo heal 'faster'. Treat it as a flesh wound... thats really what it is! The ONLY time your tattoo should be covered is right after it is done- your tattoo artist will place some sort of bandage over it. That bandage can be taken off in 1-4 hours. After that, you do not bandage it again. Keep a thin layer of A and D ointment or Bacitracin on it for a few days... DO NOT use a grease based ointment like Vaseline!! NO Neosporin!! Just the A & D or Bacitracin. H2Ocean is also a wonderful after care lotion, made especially for your healing tattoo. But NO bandages!!!! Dont rush this healing process. You can mess up your tattoo and it wont look its best. Just be patient!

Did the tattooist tell you to use a cream, at least twice daily till it was healed?
If not you need to get some Bipanthrem cream.
It is normally used to help little bubs with nappyrash. If you can't get that particular cream in your country,(I'm in Australia)any cream used for the same purpose will be okay. Use it for at least 6 weeks as it helps keep the colour and the outline stay defined.
Stay away from cosmetic moisturisers and creams with lots of additives. They leech the line and color, which will mean your tattoo will get a blurry look and fade quicker.
As your immume system is low, that's proberly why its taking longer to heal.
I was just told, sometimes it takes 4 weeks even with a good immune system. Also will depend on how much work was done at the one sitting. Is it a large tattoo and did you have colour filler put straight on?
All those things effect how long it takes to heal completely.
If you followed the instructions of the artist, e.g. kept it covered with plastic and applied cream at least twice a day.Left the plastic on for around 4-5 days.Didn't get it wet under the shower or go swimming. No solarium or tanning lotion/sprays. Avoid abrasive clothes and took care not to do too strenuous exercise,(makes you sweat).
Try not to expose it to the sun too much.
Never try and peel the healing scab off,you can make gaps in the outline or colour!
Try hard not to scrath or rub if it is itchy, that is just the healing process.
If there is any sign of infection, redness, swelling or discomfort,go straight to your Dr.
The artist should have given you a printout sheet with all this information, unfortunatly some don't.
Keep applying the cream for at least 2 weeks after its completly healed, helps maintain color and definition as well..
So yes, in your situation its normal, and there appears from what you have said, nothing to be concerned about.
Just use a cream!

Tattoo usually takes about 2 weeks to heal. One month is a little long. Is the skin around the tattoo area red? Does it itch? If none of these then nothing to worry about. Most probably you've got very sensitive skin thus took a little longer to heal. Apply baby lotion over the tattoo to give it the shine and hopefully heal faster. Avoid taking eggs. The egg yoke can and may irritate the skin thus making healing longer.

That is kind of odd, I got my tattoo the same day and it's completely healed. I would call the shop or a Dr and ask for suggestions.

Try keeping a thin coating of neosporin (anti-biotic ointment) over the area or if you have immune system problems you may need to consult with your doctor.
