Bless his little heart.
If the product had flea meds. Call a pharmacist. If you are that worried you can contact poison control just for safetys sake, and peace of mind, its free and thats what they are there for.
If it had no flea meds, then he should be fine, as felines have delicate and thin skin their shampoos are usually very gentle and mild. Give him a few extra rinses. Keep an eye out for itching and redness.
Also, be aware if it did contact flea meds dont panic, as many of the flea meds are approved in other countries to use on humans for de-licing.
My daughter washed her hair in the dogs grooming shampoo a few weeks ago, and she has not chased any cars, and she had a pleasent orange scent.
give him some cat nip tea & have him take a nap.

Rewash his hair with normal shampoo and look on the cat shampoo package to see if it is harmful? It probably isn't. Just get it washed out of your son's hair, and he'll probably be fine. Something like that happened with my little sister, and the dog shampoo.
Good Luck!

Just watch for any signs that he's coughing up hairballs. :-)
Seriously -- he'll be fine. One of the key concerns about cat shampoo is that it has to leave nothing in the hair that would make a cat sick while washing itself, so it won't leave anything in your son's hair that would hurt him. Our veterinarians have recommended using baby shampoo on our cats for this reason.

lol Thats cute. I am pretty sure that if the cat if fine right now it should be ok. The only things I would be worried about at all would be getting the shampoo in the eyes or ingesting it or perhaps the ears as well.
Funny story thanks.
If the cat is acting weird like blinking its eyes in pain you could rinse the cat in warm water or something.

He'll be fine. Cat shampoo is made to be very delicate, since it is used on such a small animal.

nothing to worry about, if it is good enough for the cat, it is good enough for a kid, really. cats need special care with that kind of stuff and if a product is gentle enough for a cat it is plenty gentle for a human

You have nothing at all to worry about.
I'm tempted to add "You need worry only if he starts to meow a lot and then you'll need to take him to the vet." but I won't.
