What is the best color depositing shampoo and conditioner you've USED? I don't want anything that's too drastic...I want to be able to control the amount of change in my hair color so that it seems more natural. Thanks!

I'm looking for Brands of shampoo/conditioner that actually color your hair. Suave proffessionals, and John Frieda don't do this. They contain ingredients that improve the specific color of hair you might already have but if you read the back they say non-color depositing. Thanks for the recommendations anyway though.

Hair color depositing shampoos are for Hair that's already been colored. This is used to maintain the color & keep it from fading. When using a color enhancement shampoo try using ARTec colorist collection shampoo from L'Oreal. The company recomends you use the KiWi shampoo as an alternate. This productline is only sold in salons. When you find a salon that sells it the hairstylist there can look at your hair color to determine a costum blend of these shampoo colors to best suit your hair color. They can mix one according to your preferance as well ( like if you don't like the fact your color pulls too much red after fading etc.) Good luck

Honey: The only effective way to colour your hair is to use hair dye at a reputable salon. Colour shampoos and conditioners only "enhance" the colour that you already have and do not really possess the ability to give you a lasting or beautifying effect.
Consider the fact that there are two types of colours available to you: permanent (which will give you roots when your hair grows), and semi permanent (which fades away slowly). If you have coloured hair and desire to spiff it up a bit every once in a while, a colour shampoo and conditioner such Aveda or Davine's
will do the trick. Wella does not offer shampoo or conditioners that will actually deposit colour on your hair, but their color care shampoo's and conditioners will help you keep the colour that you already have up to 33% longer. By the way, never use mint or rosemary mint shampoo on coloured hair since it will strip your colour away. You will also want to avoid too much sun, the swiming pool, and the ocean since they are the enemies of your hair colour.
Finally, always use good salon-bought shampoos and conditioners, not the grocery store stuff. After all, hair colouring isnot only a matter of fashion, it is also an asset in your career success.
Cheers,
Mr. M on "shampoo and conditioner."

I personally like the Brilliant series from John Freida. It is slightly tinted for your hair color mine is bruenette and they have it in several shades. They have shampoo and conditioner. I have a little secret I like also if you look in the afro american hair products isle there is a gel called ampro and it's brownish in color if you happen to be breunette. It adds a nice shiny brown color to your hair and it washes out.

I don't think anybody but you will notice this color difference. And if all else fails, tomato sauce fixes everything.
