Cable and satellite both have advantages. There's no best answer here for all situations. For most people who have normal cable and phones services with Web access through them, cable is probably best to stay with. It is more reliable in bad weather and costs are coming to a normal settling point. If you are at a camp or other remote location then you wouldn't already have cable, so I say stay with cable. Also high def is a factor. Check out the link below to a comprehensive comparison of Cable and satellite.

If you have a HDTV the switch, and switch fast! Cable is NOT a full time digital source. Dish Network or Direct TV however are.
A big screen HDTV looks horrible on channels that are not digital. (even if you have the digital package through TW it does not mean ALL channels are digital)
The worst you will get on DTV or DNW is DVD quality pictures. AND for expanded channels it is cheaper.
HOWEVER if you just watch the basic channels and do not really have a HDTV or care to get one, stick with what you have.
Your Third and BEST option would be to get Verizon Fios, but that is not in every market as of yet.

i could stay with time warner, the comprehensive 2 year dedication sucks and after the advertising expires that they're going to positioned you on it will probable be greater costly anyhow. DirectTV sucks.

Stay with cable unless you have no other options. I have digital cable and bundled my phone, internet and cable into one package. It saves a bit of money each month. Also, I think cable is more reliable and less prone to glitches and outages.
