being irish i have to say Bushmills!, it is THE oldest whiskey on the entire planet, and the brewery is less than an hour from my house.

its very strong, but fantastic. I also love;

Whyte and Mackay, a fine scotch whiskey, affordable also
Tullamore dew, a fine irish, but none too cheap
jamesons, more irish, medium price
Bells, more irish, medium again
Balentines, a great scotch whiskey, not too cheap
Glenfiddich, a beautifully smooth whiskey, one of the worlds best.
Mc Kenzie, affordable but pleasant
Stewarts cream of the barley is also great, and a good price
Good old jack daniels is superb, and affordable
Jim Beam i also have a soft spot for.

i love all whiskey really, but those are the best!

Bushmills and black bush, the originals, and still the very best!.... most are around 15 years old, but there is a bottle of bushmills owned by my father which is some 60 years old, nothing tastes quite like it. It has the traditional smokey flavour, yet more bite than other whiskeys... it is certainly an aquired taste, but true whiskey drinkers will respect its history and vintage, it has a very unique taste.

the americans make a fine whiskey, but to be honest, i still prefer the scot and the irish whiskey. i hope ths helped!

what about you good sir?

Scotch Whiskey- I buy Johnny Walker Black
Canadian Whiskey/Rye- I buy Seagram's 7
American Whiskey/ Bourbon- Maker's Mark or Wild Turkey

All of these are blends and not "Top Shelf" but still good quality, not "bottom of the barrel", either. Single blend scotches, for example, can be $50 a bottle and more.

Canadian Club or Crown Royal. That's whiskey. Jack, George, wild Turkey and the likes are Burbon's.

I hate alcohol specially whiskey since its the strong drink. I have seen people hooked to Chivas Regal.

I prefer Oban single malt scotch, but I wouldn't refuse any of the single malts.

I don't care for any of the bourbons, they taste like vomit to me. Blended whiskeys are okay for a casual, ordinary drink or a mixed drink.

Crown Royal, Jack Daniels, Jim Beam (in that order)

I don't like drinking whiskey but I do use it in cooking.

I can't afford my favorite. The best, inexpensive sour mash whiskey is Early Times...hard to tell it from Black Jack.
