How to fix a shade rod.?

Question

Is there a way to make a shade spring rod work like new again? It doesnt work as good anymore. Or isnt there any kind of adjustments to them?

on the right side of the shade there is the flat mechanisim that slide into the window mount if you turn that several times it should make your shade roll up normally.
