we got a sony 46" LCD screen from circuit city.
when you plug it in and push the power button, the sony logo lights up under the screen and the power light comes on... but the screen stays completely black. it is connected to the cable line. the remote can only turn it on and off(trust me i have pushed like every button on it) and the same with the buttons on the side of the tv. there is no sound either. it's driving me crazy! i have pushed every button i can in every combination, plugged all sorts of things in and out of it to try to get something, but there is no sound and no picture at all.
i called sony, they gave me a number for a repair place but they wont answer the phone untill the 26th.
i dont know what to do. does anyone have any advice

Yes. I have advice for you.
You need to sit down, put your feet up, relax and forget about your new TV until tomorrow.

You can try to fix it all day, and hey, maybe you will be able to get it to work, but you probably won't.
Just wait for the tech people to go back to work tomorrow, call them and you will probably be able to fix the problem after a 10 minute phone call.

Right now, there is no use frustrating yourself.

Lag is milliseconds and panel high quality has greater to do with the action than something thats why you have a distinction in lg and in all probability a low fee made television.purely like mega pixel fantasy cameras the optics are a lot greater significant than megapixels.A 20 MP cheapo digital camera wont paintings to boot as a 10 mp canon working example.the different numbers are advertising hype samsung doesnt even say the assessment ratios anymore for 2012 through fact they have been meaningless.I fix tvs like a pair others right here, and the enter lag is the way the television can adjust to quickly action differences in enter not assessment and so on.

I'm sure you've checked this already but are you sure the cable cord is going to the right socket? Are you sure your cable is turned on?
Try taking it all back apart and going through the instructions step by step, be sure you totally read each instruction as you go through again.
This kind of thing happens to me all the time, I usually figure out after several trys I've made some simple error by assuming I know what I'm doing...but that's me...
