I have known this person for four years and realized when I saw him this summer that I love him. I want to wait until next summer (when I see him again) that I love him because I want to tell him in person. However, I'm beginning to feel that I can't wait that long so should I tell him by e-mail? Also, he lives in England so I'm not sure if I could make it work?

Don't tell him in email. It's best to tell him in person, or at least on the phone. You have to communicate your emotions when you tell him you love him.
If he lives in England you can make if work IF you are willing to relocate to be with him. Don't expect him to change - even where he lives.

I'm sorry to tell you that long distance relationships almost never work out, so you might want to keep this kind of stress out of your life and try to find someone better (yes, I know this is asking a lot), but it keeps you from getting hurt too badly. The pain you'll feel now can be blamed on geography and inefficient transportation systems; this is much better than having to play around with the human element, which may say to you that you're too far apart and that love can't cross the Atlantic.

I think that you should just keep it to yourself for right now because of the distance between the two of you. If you were to tell him and he feels the same way the fact that he lives so far away would lead to him possibly cheating on you or vice versa or it may lead to a heartbreak. Save yourself the trouble sweetie!

maybe u shouldnt start with 'i love u' unless ur totally sure he loves u too, maybe just say 'i like u a lot' or something. i guess i could tell him over email, b/c if u tell him in person, he may have a shock on his face if he dont feel the same way about u, but then again he may like u just as much

She wanted to send telegraph to the car racer who were in monte carlo.She was in Paris. She just wanted to say how are you but suddenly she changed mind becaused it was not enough it was her first time saying I love you.
There is no such a time when you should, If you feel like, by phone ,email,or anything say to him I LOVE YOU .even in 3oclock in midnight , do not hesitate calling by phone .He will love it more.That is why love is beautiful and crazy thing. I still remerber when my ex gf told me I think I love you. it was 3or 4 oclock in the morning we were talking by phone She bruntly told me. It was the one of the most beautiful moment in my life.So call him right now!

If you are sure about those feelings, the best is to not wait. There were situations where he or she wanted to say something and then did wait and suddenly things changed, they didnt meet etc...there is no justification to wait to say something nice...then can be toooo late

well if you dont think you could make it work then i guess you could tell him just to get it off your mind but if you want to make it work i suggest telling him you like him not love even if that is what you feel guys gt creeped out about that word

If he is in England, then no you can't make it work, because you can rest assured he is getting some action somewhere if you can't send "your stuff" to him via international male.
