...were you annoyed that you had to walk further in the crowded parking lot & sit in overflow seating - or- did you enjoy seeing the less regular attenders, making them feel welcome to encourage them to possibly come to church more often?
How should a true Christian feel & react, and how did you in reality?

I am glad to see mostly positive answerers! I wish I heard this attitude from more people - I have heard too many complain about this & have never understood their reasoning. ??? Maybe a good question for study groups post-holiday disccusion?

I'm always glad to see more and more people attend church even if it's just for the holidays. If they come for that then sometimes they will enjoy what's happening and come again and again. A true Christian should rejoice when people attend services.

From the tone of your question, I would refer you to Luke 15:11–32 of the New Testament (Parable of the Prodgical Son.)
As a person who attended CHRISTMAS SERVICES and am a regular church goer, (addressing the "walk further") I have learned from past history that if I wish to be seated either at Christmas or at Easter I need to be at church EARLY -- like 45 minutes to an hour before services begin.
Our parish welcomes the overflow, so much so that two services are held simutaneously -- one in the church, the other in the parish hall. This is done only at Easter and Christmas.
Isn't it WONDERFUL that people, who normally would not be at church, come to celebrate the birth or resurrection of Christ? That is how I feel.

I enjoyed going an hour early and having to help set up another 25-30 chairs to handle the "overflow". (And I walked the same distance from the car, as I always park in the lot of the business next door to assure there is enough room in our church lot for everyone else).

No I wasn't annoyed why would I be? A true Christian would be happy that all the people came together as a community of regulars and non regulars. I was happy with all of them just mad at myself for not showing up earlier is all, I should have known better then to arrive only 10 minutes before Midnight Mass began.

I never mind walking further because the church is overflowing on Christmas and Easter. The people that perhaps don't enjoy the knowledge of those days everyday in their heart need them so badly when they do go stand in the presence of God.
Merry Christmas.

I was thrilled to park down the street. I had the great job of opening the door and greeting everyone. I was thrilled to see more new faces than people I knew. I know many people only come once or twice a year, so I hope they enjoyed it and got something good from it. Merry Christmas!

i could bypass to Temple extremely than a church. I even have seen the community that's formed around that faith. They do incredible issues for another, they understand a thank you to furnish authentic convenience and help. If I shared their religious message i could attend a non-orthodox Jewish provider. so as which would be what saturday early evening? i'm uncertain while they meet weekly.

Joyous that so many wanted to take part in His birth celebrations!
Who cares if they didn't get to park in their normal spot...at least you found parking!
I don't care that I can't sit in my "normal" seat...there were other available seats.
The more the merrier!!!
Merry Christmas! :o)
