Christians do not claim that Jesus was born on Dec. 25th...this is just a day set aside to remember His birth and what it mens to Those who are His.

There isn't any proof that Jesus was born on the 25th of December. That is why it is often said that Christmas is rather pagan. Some churches around the world celebrate Christmas after 12 days as they believe that is the real day when the saviour came down to Earth. We do know however, that Jesus came during the cold winter.

no place in the bible does it tell us when Jesus Christ was born. but it tells us when he died. he died on Nisan 14, the last supper or the passover. he was 33 1/2 years old. count six months forward and you get Oct. also in DEC it is the rainy and cold season and the Shepard's would not be out in the field. in Oct they would be. DEC 25 is a pagan holiday. also Jesus told us to celebrate his death not his birth. and since Nisan 14 is once a year the Jehovah Witnesses worldwide celebrate it in 235 lands.

no, there is no source or biblical text pointing towards Jesus birth being on december 25th, it was actually in april, and the whole december 25th was the christian response to the pagan holidays of the winter solstice celebration...it allowed them to be included during the times of celebration, but more for their own purposes. besides, that, december 25th would alwys fall on a different time of the seasons for the most part anyways, because at that time there was not 12 months on a calendar year

THE Bible does not tell us when Jesus was
born. However, it does give us sound reason to conclude that his birth did not take place in December.

Consider the weather conditions at that time of the year in Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. The Jewish month of Chislev (corresponding to November/December) was a month with cold and rainy weather. The month after that was Tebeth (December/January). It saw the lowest temperatures of the year, with occasional snows in the highlands. Let us see what the Bible tells us about the climate of that region.

The Bible writer Ezra shows that Chislev was indeed a month known for cold and rainy weather. After stating that a crowd had gathered in Jerusalem “in the ninth month [Chislev] on the twentieth day of the month,” Ezra reports that people were “shivering . . . on account of the showers of rain.” Concerning weather conditions at that time of the year, the congregated people themselves said: “It is the season of showers of rain, and it is not possible to stand outside.” (Ezra 10:9, 13; Jeremiah 36:22) No wonder shepherds living in that part of the world made sure that they and their flocks were no longer out of doors at night when December came around!

The Bible reports, however, that shepherds were in the fields tending their flocks on the night of Jesus’ birth. In fact, the Bible writer Luke shows that at that time, shepherds were “living out of doors and keeping watches in the night over their flocks” near Bethlehem. (Luke 2:8-12) Notice that the shepherds were actually living out of doors, not just strolling outside during the day. They had their flocks in the fields at night. Does that description of outdoor living fit the chilly and rainy weather conditions of Bethlehem in December? No, it does not. So the circumstances surrounding Jesus’ birth indicate that he was not born in December.

God’s Word tells us precisely when Jesus died, but it gives little direct indication as to when he was born. This brings to mind King Solomon’s words: “A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one’s being born.” (Ecclesiastes 7:1) It is not surprising, then, that the Bible provides many details about Jesus’ ministry and death but few details about the time of his birth.

When Christ died on the torture stake, after a ministry of three and a half years, he was thirty-three and a half years old. His death was at Passover time. That was about the first of April, A.D. 33. So Christ, having died at the age of thirty-three and a half, would have been thirty-four years old six months later, or about October 1. So Jesus was born, not December 25, but about October 1, 2 B.C.

No. In fact the NT says that when Jesus was born, the shepherd were in the hills tending their flocks. Shepherds only sleep with their flocks during lambing in Springtime.

Nonetheless, the story of Jesus' birth was certainly written decades after the event and was done so to lend credence to their claims of his royal lineage and fulfillment of prophecy...all of which is hokum.

The 12/25 date was not set by the church until the 3rd century.

Actually, the date for Christmas is taken from a pagan festival, just like the date for Easter.

An analysis of the story of the birth of Jesus based on astronomical information (e.g. - what star could have lead such individuals to Bethlehem, etc.), suggests the actual date is around 15 April.

Supposedly, they keep the animals inside this time of year because it's cold. So they say it had to be in the Fall
since the shepards were in the fields.
But who knows what the climate was back in those days?
Jesus was undoubtedly a Libra. Since Libra is the sign of the mediator. Bringing two sides together, God and man.

Only God, Mary and Joseph know the exact day of the birth. We celebrate this day because of His birth.

He not only died for us, Jesus came to earth and lived for us as well!

One of the Caesars designated Dec. 25th to be the official day we celebrate His birth so everyone could celebrate together.

I don't know about you but sometimes, I celebrate my birthday on a different day from my actual birthday. It give family and friends an opportunity to join in the celebration.

Merry Christmas!
