You are in the wrong category. This is languages.

Anyway:

Mt. Everest, on the border of Nepal and Tibet, China, is the world's tallest mountain and highest elevation with a peak at 29,035 feet (8850 meters).

Mauna Kea in Hawaii is the world's tallest mountain from base to peak! Its base is on the sea floor and it rises 33,480 feet (10,314 meters) in total, reaching 13,796 feet (4205 m) above sea level.

While Mt. Everest is the world's tallest mountain above sea level, Mauna Kea is still quite spectacular.

Mauna Loa on the big island of Hawaii.
Technically it's base is at the bottom of the Pacific

...whoops, it is Mauna Kea by 120 ft.
How could I get that one wrong? I've been there!

Mauna Kea if you count the base below sea level. But if you count only bases above sea level, it's not K2 it's Mount McKinley.

If you're not referring to Mt. Everest, it's probably Hawai'i with all the salt water drained down.
