I need very fine ground walnut (like a cream) for a special food. I tried to find such a thing in the stores, but I couldn't (maybe since I didn't know under what name I should find it). Now, I am going to grind walnut, but not sure with what device. I know that fat of walnut may hurt the device. So, what should I do? Any suggestion?

I have tried it and it definitely can hurt the device! But depends on the power of that and its brand..., based on your answers, I couldn't decide on the device, but it seems coffee grinder or mini food processor would work. Thanks!

Sometimes you can find walnut paste in the Health Food section of a grocery store or at a Health Food store. I make mine using a food processor.

The fat of the walnut isn't going to hurt anything. But be aware that nut butters are ground between stones to a paste. Neither your food processor or your coffee grinder are going to give you that result.

of the tools you mentioned I'd use the coffee grinder after cleaning it out thoroughly. A spice grinder would work also. Be sure you use blanched walnuts (skin removed) or it might add a bitter flavor to your dish.
Remember to clean it out after you grind the nuts or your coffee will taste like walnuts. Using it a few times to grind spices or nuts won't hurt it.

food processor....the oils in the nuts will foul a grain grinder or a coffee grinder very quickly.

One thing you can do is break it to pieces and then use the coffee grinder

food processor.

You only use coffee grinders for coffee or good weed.

depends on texture but I would just put them in a plastic food storage bag and hit them til they are the right consistency..cheap and less clean up.
