Now, if you don't have a sense of humor, get one, you'll need it for homeschooling. My favorite response is a grin and to say we homeschool, but these are fun too!

Some are definately funny, but at the risk of homeschoolers sounding overly cocky. I'm a huge fan of sarcasm, I just don't wanna be called 'another smart *** homeschooler'....if that makes sense.

My favourite time I was asked that was once when I was out with my sister for her thirteenth birthday and this old farmer guy at the bus stop would not believe us that we were home schooled! He gave us this huge talk about skipping school, and when he was our age he had much better excuses for not being in school, and back in his day school was a great place to spend your day, It went on forever! it certainly entertained us for the rest of the day though. I like to collect the funny reactions people have to home schoolers and the like.
I might have to try out a few of your answers though :) they're hilarious.

While out in public with my 3rd grader, Kindergartener and toddler in tow, if I am asked that question, I usually respond that my children have already been and finished today. Even if it is 9 in the morning. It's nothing but the truth.

Very funny.LOL!! I get asked a lot.But we usually aren't,t out until we are done for the day.Some people have a lot of nerve.I think I use a few of yours next time.Thanks for the laugh!!
