It's just a freaking book.
It's amazing how much pain it inflicted on mankind since it's been written.
If you don't believe the dark tower is real, you won't be teleported to stephen king's imagination; same deal here.

Zeus and all that junk was meant to be a book of one purpose entertainment. The Bible on the other hand was real because it wasn't a book it was a document. It was found in old scrolls and it was just like any other document. Some people would still argue saying it was still just a book but those people and other scientists make huge inclusions about how paintings on the walls of caves and that since apes look a lot like us means we are apes and cavemen believed in these kind of releigons but they ignore the fact that the bible was very well documented (much more then painting on a wall) and that it deserves to be believed just as much as any other document.

If you were to look at a lot of books back in that time you will find references to cities. It was common knowledge back then.
Here is an example. Let's say I write a journal, and in it I make mention of NYC. Now, lets say there is a horrible catastrophe where everyone forgets NYC, 2-5000 years later my journal is found. Does this make my observations of the world all true?

It isn't just the existence of places (cities, towns, regions) mentioned in the Bible that "proove" the Biblical stories are true. There are extra-Biblical sources (sources outside the Bible) - such as ancient court records, chronicles, histories, even letters of foreign courts (Egypt; Babylon; Assyria) that mention the names of Israelite kings and their doings and even describe certain battles told in the Bible that strengthen the accuracy of the Biblical accounts. Peple and places in the Bible where actual historical figures and places. Events told in the Old Testament and the New were evets that actually happened - but events recounted from the perspective of redemptive history; i.e., history as seen from God's eyes. What is "Behind the scenes" is infinitely more important from the prophetic point of view than say from the journalistic point of view. The Biblical writers sought to communicate what God was doing behind the historical events.. which is the point of interest for the spiritual reader. That King David existed and was King over Israel in around 1010 BC for example is not a point of contention for me... It is a given... in telling us something of the life of King David and how God dealt with him, the Biblical writers tell us something of what God is like. And this is of infinite value to the serious seeker becuase the God with whom David had to deal with is the SAME God with who I have to do.
So, if you are stuck with such questions as, "how can I prove that the Bible is true" and looking for your "proofe" in archelogical answers, all I can say is, while this helps, ultimately it is NOT the point of the Bible. You are "fishing" with thre wrong net and the true gems are slipping through gaping holes.

I think that I see your problem. You say that whatever any of us say you will believe. That is a very dangerous way of thinking when you are talking about the Lord as there are a lot of Spiritual Ignorant people in this world looking for people as you are, IF you are truly like that. I do not think that you are really, are you??

If you read a book that predicted the future with 100% accuracy, would you believe it?
There are 100s of fulfilled prophecies in the Bible. Many of the Bible's prophecies have not yet been fulfilled, but not one biblical prophecy has been proven to be wrong.

It's so easy, even I can do it..... what is up with you? Even a majority of non-believers know that historically, the bible has been shown more and more accurate. It is the story of Jesus, and all the miracles throughout time, that is called false. If I don't believe in you, will you go away?

Some places in the Bible are historical, some are not. The Bible is not a very good history or geography book.
