which way to put a turkey in the oven.... i don't want to make it upside down!!

The instructions are usually on the packaging that the turkey comes in. However, if that is missing, you must remove the neck and giblets, then rinse out the turkey, and pat it dry before cooking. Place the turkey breast and legs upwards. Visit these links for thorough directions -

You put it in breast side up, easy enough to do because the "bottom" of the turkey is flatter and should sit solidly in the roasting pan.
You may need to drape some aluminum foil over the top of the turkey to keep it from browning too fast.

Some people bake it breast side down, the white breast meat stays moister. I had an in law that would turn her bird over 1/2 way through, she would place a wire rack under the bird so she could lift it to turn it over.

trhe bottom is where the legs are, put that on the pan or whatever you are cooking it in and as you slide it in the oven you wANT THE LEGS TO POINT AT YOU
