Maybe you just don't have enough in common. Try to find other things to do, to talk about, see if your dates become interesting again. If you can't...just forget about him. If you don't have that much in common, I don't think there's any point for dating anymore.

Maybe he's got something ( someone) else on his mind. Maybe you are doing exactly what you did the other times, talking about the same thing repeatedly ( which would get old fast). Move on to new frontiers in this relationship, go places, do things and talk a lot the whole time to learn about each other. If you reach a point where you are " wondering" if you both have much in common it is then time to move on. If you have to ask the question, therein lies the answer.

If I was you, I'd start off with going to Google, then typing date ideas then get picking some fun stuff!
Maybe going on a double date might help things as well if any of your others friends would be available.
If your 3rd date was so great then try and do something like that again.

Sometimes people don't both have the same interest in each other, it happens often enough. If you find that you're having to invest more energy than he is then you may want to reconsider what you're doing for dates, or maybe his commitment to your relationship. Of course another issue that may or may not be involved: sex. If he feels that he's not going to get laid soon, then he may decide to let things fizzle out out and find someone more willing to drop her pants. Obviously I am not recommending that you spice things up by doing so, that's just cheap, but it just means that he thinks you're not worth the effort and energy and just wants a romp in the sack. Ever think of doing something unconventional for a date? The options are endless, but dinner and a movie doesn't cut it for everyone, myself included.

you just need to go somewhere where the both of you can see something new for the both of you and this will build an interesting conversation and can definetly break the ice on alot of topics that both parties wanna get out.

Find out why it is boring. Maybe you two really have very little in common. If that is true, either find something in common or move on.
