To be a priest or a pastor or a religious icon you don’t need any proper education or commonsense at all.
But to be a science person you must have a proper education and knowledge?
But if you are a religious icon …you can give controversial speeches or participate in very important human issues?

Religious icon?
I think you better look into this a little deeper.... a Priest/Pastor's education is one of studying the scriptures, understanding them, and being able to explain them... And Controversy is what makes the world go round in the way that it does, someone has to be wrong in the end anyways.

And your point is?
There have been scientists without formal education. I know of engineers without degrees.

Not all religious leaders are lacking in education. Not all political leaders have such.

I think that the greater issue comes in being published in respectable journals. Scientists typically use a process called "peer review", while religious leaders are able to publish what they will, when they will.
