As I'm sure everyone else here will probably say, please reconsider getting rid of the cat. Thousands of cats are killed every day because of people that don't care about these wonderful animals. Before you get rid of the cat, please try to understand it first. She sounds a lot like my cat, my cat is downright EVIL. Not a single person in my house is without a battle wound from her, but we all know that she just acts that way because she thinks of herself as an independent hunter. If she bothers you by being mean, ignore her. You should still feed her, but don't look for affection. She will let you know when she wants affection. A good combination is to get a small dog as a friend for her, we got a pekingese puppy and they play all the time together. You might also try getting her wet cat food, that was a quick affection getter from mine. She lets me know when she wants it by snuggling and meowing loudly. If her scratching bothers you enough, and if you can make her an inside cat, de-claw her. It's generally about $100 and their attitude changes greatly (we did this to another cat). My cat showed me just how much she actually does love me (even though both arms/hands are covered in scratches/scars) by bringing me home a tiny baby mouse!! PLEASE don't give up on her!!! She will come around, or you will. She doesn't deserve to die.. she's acting the way cats are supposed to act in the wild. If you take a trip to the local animal shelter, and watch what they do there, it might change your mind!!

We have 3 cats - one loves it and can't stop rolling on the toy we put fresh cat nip on for him. One likes it and will go crazy when she sniffs it. She also will lick the toy. One could care less. If she plays with a toy with cat nip it was only because she was going to play with that toy anyway.

My 2 spoiled cats play once and a while with the catnip toys. My girl cat loves the burlap covered toy, while my boy cat loves the toy shaped like a mouse.

We have four cats: Linus; Marcie; Sabrina; and Slinky. Linus and Slinky are total nip-heads--they can sniff that stuff out anywhere and roll in it until they are stoned. Sabrina cares for it only a little bit, but Marcie will eat it. Marcie will eat all of it if you let her, and then she drools for about ten minutes afterwards. She doesn't act stoned, she just loves to eat catnip until she drools.

Well, I have two cats. One cat loves it, the other I'm not sure about.

But the elder cat, who is also the other cat's mother, will play with it for a moment, and when the other cat touches it, they'll both ignore it.

She's such a brat, but I love her anyway.
