Your name, Jordan, means; The river of judgment in the biblical sense. In the the Hebrew; It means, To flow down or flowing down. My mother just passed away. She loved Christmas and made it a wonderful time of the year. I don't much care for Christmas but I think that stems more from the greed I see than from my lack of connectivity to the season. Your reasons are probably a lot deeper than you think and someday having your own family might be the only thing that breaks the cycle that your mother and possibly her ancestors started. For gods sake don't pass it on. It's almost like you are in an abusive revoltion to the time of year that made you miserable. No one telling you to "get over it" will help. If you don't want to seek out a support group or a pro. Try working with agencies that help the poor... give out food and warm clothes to the homeless. When you find the true meaning of the season you will be a much happier person. Good luck.

yeah i hear you i'm not a big fan of this holiday either for me growing up was a heartache christmas was always so lonely as i was an only child in the home i had an older brother and sister and step brothers and stepsisters but i always was an outsider anyway the thing that bugs me the most about this holiday is the hypocrisy as christians rip into people all year around but want to be nice and have mercy on everybody when people should have respect for eachother and be nice to eachother everyday

Let Mommy go and get on with your life. Cut the apron strings and grow up. I was physically abused all my childhood life, and now I am out of that crap, and live how I want to. You can too. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and making excuses. Grow up. I say these things out of love, and want you to know there is a life beyond home. I do not want to seem cruel, but to be politically correct as that is all this world understands, do all the things mentioned above and you will be a better person for it. I could put it in more blunter terms, but I feel that you have got the meaning. Go for it.

Get over it. What your mother did or didn't do is her problem, not yours. You choose to hate Christmas and blame the past actions of your mother for your hatred. You cannot change the past, but you can change yourself and the future. Choose love. Try it. What have you got to lose?

its a personal problem. you need to find love. The Christmas is a stupid religious festival like the other religious festivals which create retail pockets full, and energy waste.
