i dont mean the fact that there is'nt any snow on the ground or cold icy weather. i mean the overall giddy & joyfull feeling that we usually get this time of year. i have found that these usual happy feelings have been replaced with (i have to buy exspensive gifts to please people) or ( i am low on money and have to spend money i dont have ) why do we feel we have to go in debt and spend a fortune that most of us dont have? how do we turn christmas back into celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, and being gratefull for what he did and gave to us? versus celebrating the make believe guy in the red suit, and thinking we have to obey societys rules and give beyond our means (financially & mentally) o.k. i am done. this is my 1st post. i look forward to any and all feedback.

Your feeling reflects the way most of the world is in today's age. Too many people are far more worried about being politically correct, than they are at expressing their beliefs or sharing their faith. I'm a mother of five and although I'll start shopping for next Christmas this up-coming weekend, it's not so much about the gifts. I've raised my children to understand that Santa Clause is just a bonus this time of year. They understand that Christmas is about the birth of Christ and in their hearts they also know this is a time of giving, not receiving. I've raised them this way in the hopes that they too, will raise their own children with the same mindset. Maybe if more and more of us took a stand and reverted back to our roots, it would start to seem a little more like CHRISTmas and less like Santa time.

I agree, you don't see carolers out anymore, and its so crowded in stores and the rudeness of people, inconsiderate, all about me attitude, what can you do about all of this I don't know, I try to make it through the holidays with out letting the world get to me. but every year it seems to get more like....hurry up and get through it attitude.
