i love being called sweetie!
i also adore being called babe.
but its less about what a woman is being called and more about what is being said to her.
the best is being told that you're loved, beautiful, and that your guy wants to be with you forever.

Let's take a good look at what some Presidents have called their wives>>> Ronald Reagan called his wife the Dragon Lady
Bush calls his wife Bushie
Dick Cheney calls his wife Butch
Hilary is knowns as the Baggermuncher
So I would say that calling a Woman Sweetie is probably not the greatest nickname to have. Perhaps calling her Baby Bird would be better.

If you call multiple women Sweetie or any other pet name at the same time, then no, we don't like it.

It depends on the tone and who is saying it. I don't like when someone I'm not involved with comes up with pet names for me.
But with my guy...I am a sucker for pet names.
Honey, Baby, Sweetie....
Since my name is Kat, my guy calls me Kitty....I like that, because he's the only one who calls me that.
I also like when I say his name and he responds "yes dear?"
or when I get "that tone" and he says "yes ma'am" (if anyone else calls me ma'am I get offended because I don't think I'm THAT old.)
it's all about how you say, not so much what you say.

I like "honey" the best. Especially if I really like the guy. It's a good sign, because if's more like something a husband would say to a wife.

If and only if, the man is a familiar one I do like to be called by "pet" names such as "honey", "baby", "lover", and "sweetie", and such but I absolutely hate "girlie". That one makes me sick.

i dont. i call my cat sweetie so i wouldn't want to be called the same.
it's the way he says my name that i really like even without those endearments...
