From what you have given it seems to be a number of options and or issues, can you be more detailed in what it is you do when this happens.
However possible reasons are:
Virus - linked to the file
Virus - Linked to the pdf Program
can i recomend that you scan the hard drive for any virus AFTER you uninstall adobe pdf if it is the free version( adobe reader) then redownload it from adobe site, or email me direct and i can send you the file

Uninstall Acrobat Reader, and do a reinstall...

Alternatively, use another PDF reader... They can be found at www.download.com

Could be overamping your ram. Try rebooting your system, then make sure you have no open programs running, this includes any messenger's etc....

Click on the pdf file you want to open then see what happens.

Maybe Acrobat Reader or a link to it is corrupt.

Uninstall Adobe Acrobat reader. Then go to www.adobe.com, download the new version of Acrobat Reader, and install it. That should fix your problem.
