she has always used the litter box, and after she pee'd on me and I was taking the bedding down stairs to wash, I noticed her in the litter box scratching, sitting, scratching again, but upon investigating, she did not do anything. She has always been good. She did have salmon for a treat the night before.

Maybe you held her to long ? She is still a babyand accidents do happen. if it happens again maybe she has a bladder infection?

Is she squatting and trying to go other places then not being able to or just going a tiny bit? If so, then she has crystals that accumulate in the urethra and bladder and block them from being able to urinate. A bladder infection can cause them to stop using the box and just go wherever, too.

she might have UTI or a kidney infection. I would get a vet appt on Tuesday so she can get checked for that.
