O.k. so my dog is my world. He is small. 1/2 pug 1/2 boxer. I am invited to stay the night all the time at friend's and family's yet I won't cause I don't want him to be alone all night! Am I crazy? Suggestions?

Hi, No you are not crazy. You love your pet,and you don't want to leave him alone for a full night. I feel the same way about my 3 dogs. They have a fit when ever i go anywhere,and when i get back home they damn near knock me down,they are sooo happy i am home.I do no where you are coming from.Why not ask your friend if it would be okay,if you bring your companion with you. at least try. A Friend. Merry Christmas.

I think it depends, how long you will be away from the dog. Or if you live alone or have a roommate. You should not leave your dog for more than 8 hours, crated or not. It can cause your dog to have a bladder infection or many worse things. Can you asak if you can bring your dog?
But I don't think you are crazy. I don't stay with other people because of my dog.

Your dog will be OK at night without you. If he sleeps with you just leave your PJ's with him so he has your smell to sleep with. Remember, he's asleep most of the night and will not be actively missing you. You're not crazy, but you are projecting on to him feelings that he doesn't have. As long as he can follow his nightly routine as much as possible he will be fine.

Crate train the dog. Get a secure crate he cant' get out of, I like the black metal collapsible ones from walmart (non collapsible usually is cheaper though). Then maybe they will let him come if he can stay in the crate while there? No way he can mess anything up or bother anyone that way.

i would tell my friends and family that I have a dog and that is my responsibility and need to say maybe some other time . good luck and god bless .

i understand your dog is your child he is a member of your family and should be treated like one
i do the same thing with my baby cat "momo" i make sure she is considered my daughter from others

leave him with family. your friend invited you and if they are not comfortable with your dog you should respect their wishes by declining politely that you are unable to go.

who ever allowed a pug to breed a boxer is crazy... dang
eventually you have to accept not everybody wants your dog in their house...

maybe they aren't comfortable around dogs, i'm sure he'll be okay for one night.
