My boyfriend is really sweet when it's just us, but when were around his friends he ignores me and treats me like crap! I talked to hima bout it and he got all upset. what do i do??

well honey If I were you I would give him an ultimatum! Either he treats you well every where no matter what or you leave so that he can play tuff in front of his friends! You deserve better than this!

Two words "El Dumpo". This is the classical behaviour of the kind of guy who feelsso insecure in himself, that the only way he can make himself feel good in the company of men, is to put his woman down. "Me Tarzan - Her my woman" kinda thing. When it's just the two of you together he doesn't feel any need to "compete for status" because there are no other males around that he feels he has to match up to. But when the two of you are in the presence of other guys, he is trying to assert his dominance in the relationship.
A very long time ago I had a boyfriend who acted in the exact same way. and in front of his mates his behaviour towards me was just awful. I also started noticing that after years of marriage, his father acted that way towards his mother when we were at his home, so it's a pretty fair bet she had been putting up with it their whole married life. There are just certain personality traits that if the kid learns them at an early age from the same-sex parent, by the time that child becomes an adult, it's hardwired in place, and nothing's going to change it.

If he can't be himself with you 100% of the time be it with friends or alone then he isn't going to be there for you 100% of the time. When a time comes and you really ned him his friends will come first. Find a man that will treat you like a woman should be treated. He should give you the same attention all the time.

Be advised that your boyfriend is following MANLAW when in front of his friends.
He is trying to protect his manhood by not looking like an emotional pincushion when around his friends.
If you are not cool with MANLAW, there are plenty of other WUSSES out there that don't follow the edicts of MANLAW -- they are called metrosexuals.

dump him. he disrespects u in public, and thats a very bad thing. talk to him again and say u will dump him if he does it again. if he does it again, seriosly dump him.
