the three wise men were really two gay men who missed the baby shower because they lived too far away.

The Greek does indicate Jesus was more than just an infant by the time of their visit. However, Herod might have said "two years and younger" just to make sure he did his best to kill the young child. And, yes, it seems they were in a house by then -- though that could be just a day or two after the birth and, maybe, after the Census crowd.
>it is incorrect to put three wise men in the manger?
I would agree that it is incorrect to put the three Magi IN THE MANGER. Jesus Christ was laid in the manger. The manger likely would have been very crowded if the three Magi were in it too. BUT the three Magi MIGHT have been in the stable!!!

You are most likey correct. People don't consider how long it would take to travel in Biblical days. They always place the Magi on the same night with the shephards. Yes, it would've taken two years which was the time when Herod was murdering two year olds. Also, Mary and Joseph may have used the gifts of the Magi to pay for their escape to Egypt. How else then could they immediately leave? Good observation you did! Merry Christmas!

You are correct. But the whole "Christmas" story is full of assumptions. Was there a camel, sheep, cow, etc. was it on the 25th of December, probably not. Someone down through the years decided that the manger should be as we currently display it. The star was also in the sky not over the manger.

Probably.
But then again, there weren't necessarily THREE wise men either. There were three gifts, but the number of magi is never stated in the Bible. Plus, Jesus was most likely born sometime in the spring. The date of Christmas was moved to line up with a pagan holiday so it would be easier to convert people to Christianity.
I'd say don't worry about it. It's the spirit that counts.

Jesus was not in the manger when they seen him so it is wrong. also Jesus was not born in dec. it is the cold and rainy season. Jesus died on Nisan 14, the last supper or passover. he was 33 1/2 years old. count six months forward and you get oct. so Jesus was born sometime in Oct. but Jesus told us to celebrate his death not his birth and since Nisan 14 the passover comes once a year, that is when you are to celebrate. the shepards where out in the field and they would not be out in the rain and cold season

You have a point. No one knew how many magi there were, and it is mentioned that they arrived at a house to see a child, not to a manger to see a baby.
It is assumed that there were three because there were three gifts, but the number of magi aren't mentioned in the Bible.

Unless they are Michael Jackson or Mark Foley they should definately NOT be in the manger!
Unless you are talking about the stable, in which case you are technically correct, but then there's no proof that there were three wise me either, so obviously the Nativity scene is not considered to be historically accurate.
