Anti Freeze is very poisonous to pets such as dogs and cats. That is so cruel to even think about doing that to the cats in your neighborhood. They don't know that they are doing something wrong, they are most likely stray cats that are looking for some kind of food. I suggest that maybe you could buy some cat food and feed them everyday and maybe they won't be chewing the flowers in your yard. Cats are really loving animals especially to the people that feed them.

i did no longer study the link yet do understand this has been a protracted used technique to do away with cats in neighborhoods. I had a burly massive loud boss that few knew he enjoyed his cat to bits. A fellow business employer guy stated how he had placed out anti freeze for roaming cats to kill them and replaced into shocked to get an ear complete approximately his strikes. My previous boss made specific he felt undesirable as he could. If someone will try this to animals, what on earth else have they completed. unhappy.

Cats have a very sensitive sense of SMELL. They will stay away from perfumes. If you put a fragrant perfume on a cloth and protect it from the rain and wet then it will keep them away from whatever area that you want. I understand that this also works for those who want their cats/dogs to stay off of the furniture. I hope that this helps with your flowers. The old anifreeze is deadly to any animal that drinks it. The new antifreeze probably will not bother them at all. Have a great holiday!!

Ok first of all, cats are not nasty animals. They make great pets, and they are smarter than dogs, but I'm not saying that I'm against dogs. Second of all, that will damage your soil and kill and or poison the cats which is animal cruelty. If you scare them off a few times, chances are that they won't come back.

anti freeze has a sweet smell to animals - this will only attract them. if you type "how to keep cats out of yard" in search - you will find a PDF with suggestions:
orange, lemon, coffee, pipe tobacco - or spraying old perfume on rags -
even tho i'm not a big fan of pets - especially cats - the anti freeze will kill them and you'll make someone very sad when fluffy doesn't come back home! and then you'll have dead cat problems in your yard!!

Build a higher fence, like 15 feet high.

Animal Human Society should sue you for poisoning cats with the anti=freeze stuff. You jerk!

Antifreeze is a sadistic way to kill a cat. Because of the smell and taste of it, cats and dogs will lap this up. Less than a teaspoon will cause a cat to die a painful death.

There are more humane ways to get rid of unwanted animals and save yourself being arrested for cruelty to animals.

it is actually illegal to leave antifreeze out... not only will you kill cats, you will kill dogs, birds etc.. and it may get into the environment and cause other problems... plus if a kid drinks it ... oh man will you be in trouble...

cats wont avoid antifreeze.. they will avoid moth balls

I have cats and i have a lovely yard... I honestly dont know why people have problems... (by the way my yard is in the country and my cats dont/cant leave my yard)

you can catch the cats and take them to your local shelter where they will be adopted out to a different owner who will be instructed to keep them inside..
infact this is the only legal thing you can do with stray cats...

better fence
better planting....

Maybe if you are lucky your dog will drink some too!
O.K. I take that back, I really don't want to sink to your level.
But really, there are other ways to discourage pests and pets from using your yard as a playground/bathroom. Since you have internet access - surf the web and learn! Shalom!

If you leave antifreeze out, you will kill the cats, but, depending on your state, you could be arrested for animal cruelty, which is a felony and punishable by jail time.
