Those things you mentioned dont mix really well.
The savety of any p2p is questionable, depending on the situation and your search you most likely will get viruses and trojans everywhere. P2P always leaves traces and you can be tracked down. For some more saftey you would need to use proxy servers and know how to configure your p2p for that...and most p2p would allow the use of proxies....so thats not an issue.
And finally the speed aspect:
This again depends on what you are looking for.
You would have problems and a long wait if you need something special where there are only a few seeders. Most popular downloads will be done in the same time with any p2p software, and full movie downloads will take a long time with any p2p...so yeah...decide on what you want and use like torrent for movies and maybe limewire for music

I use bitcomet, never had any problems and through it you have several sub-selections to download torrents. Its free.
