No...you're good. The inside of it's probably still icy.

If it was frozen last night and it's been in cold water all night, you're fine.

Enjoy your Christmas dinner!

It is fine. I put my turkey in the sink with water for Thanksgiving this year and walked away without making sure the plug was tight to keep the water in the sink. The next morning, there was no water in the sink and the turkey was thawed. It wasn't warm, but it wasn't super cold, either. I cooked it, ate it, and we ate leftovers from it for a few days. No one got sick, and it most certainly didn't taste any different. Iam sure bacteria formed a bit, but most of it was probably killed when it got cooked, anyway. You have nothng to worry about. Plus, like others said, depending on the size, it is most likely the middle is still partially frozen. :-)

There is a risk that it has grown bacteria that can cause food borne illness. When they say you can thaw your turkey in water, the water must either be continually running, or changed very frequently. See, the problem is that you do not want your turkey to reach a certain temperature zone, 41 to 140 degrees for too long of a time. This range of temperatures, also called the "Danger Zone," is just right to let bacteria grow, and thrive. The safest way to thaw is in the fridge. (for next time)

I've done the same and it never made anyone sick. I know they always say not to do it, but I've heard other people do it and tried it about 10 years ago and have had very good results. Our home is not very warm we don't keep the heat very high cause we don't like it. Good luck./
