Do the catholic church really want to help Africa?

Question

The catholic church have one BILLION followers.
And a fortune of OLD.
And to help Africa in this total catastrophe of HIV they tell people that CONDOMS cause HIV.
If you give them to people they might get sexual ideas.
DO OH!
These guys ARE RICH/LOADED/INFLUENTIAL!
If they took a third of what is possible to liquidate and bought some pharmaceutical company in South Africa and made the license holders on blocking medication happy with what ever string pope&co can pull the situation would improve more than advice against condoms.
I guess they DONT WANT TO!

Im sad to say it was an news item a few years ago but it COULD have been news-folk making fun fun when it wasnt.I cant give you any document and its only for me to say that it may be wrong,but ive heard it many times(that NOT make it accurate) But the other side of it-to fund REAL relief is my point not what some dimwit fantasises of-catholic or other.
They got the range and the machinery for change and.....nada!

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
3. Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control was against the will of God.

If the world is going to ignore teachings about chastity (1 & 2), then why is the world so upset about teaching artificial birth control (3)?

People who are already ignoring the more important teachings about chastity (1 and 2) should have no problem ignoring the less important teaching of artificial birth control (3).

Even if a person infected with AIDS was to use a condom to help protect his or her spouse, condoms are not 100% effective (read the box) and the spouse may be infected and die anyway. A person who truly loves their spouse would not endanger them in this way.

The Catholic Church is also working to help those afflicted by this horrible disease. Here is one recent news story from December 6, 2006:

I, m a Secular Humanist with a ranging interest
in world religions.

While I suspect that many practicing Catholics
do not really know the true intent of Catholic
hierarchy, I do read about a liberal element in
Catholicism that has a very real interest in the
social welfare of all humans.

This concern extends back at least into the 1800s if not earlier.

It is my hope that they will stick to their interpretation of how Catholicism should function
in face of opposition by the very conservative
leadership element.

The Catholic Church like the Islamic church is not intrested in the well being of africa or africans.
They like the Islamics want to control africa not help it. Your are right in that were africans given free use of condoms there would be 1000% fewer cases of aids in africa. But the leaders of the Cathilic Church being homosexuals do not hire married or allow opposite sex members to engage in church business, even nuns being for the most part homosexuals are not allowed a say in the church or it's business.

The HOly RomaN CatHolic CHurch is strickly a gay mans thing.
