What matters most is not what a religion says, but what the bible says.

Jehovah's Witnesses have the true religion. They are Christian (of course), but they are unique for their rejection of paganisms, use of God's personal name, and global preaching by every active adherent. No other religious organization can claim such purity of worship.

These facts about Jehovah's Witnesses are perhaps relevant to this question. The more one compares this Christian religion with others, the more remarkable it is shown to be.

1. Jehovah's Witnesses have no paid clergy. Yet they remain tightly organized with more than 6.5 million active Jehovah's Witness preachers (about 16 million associate themselves with the religion). Even fulltime preachers and workers at their branch offices are unpaid volunteers.

2. There is no elite class among Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the few 'anointed' among them enjoy no special privileges in their congregations on earth. An anointed person (one of those relative few with a heavenly hope) is not elevated above his fellow congregants in any way, and he may not even qualify for appointment as a simple 'deacon' or elder. There are no titles; EVERYONE is addressed as 'brother' or 'sister'.

3. No person benefits economically from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the 8 to 20 men who serve on their Governing Body receive simply room, board, medical care, and reimbursement for certain personal expenses according to the exact same provision as every other branch volunteer.

4. About a hundred men have served on Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body committee during the past 125 years or so. The vast majority of them have spent the vast majority of their adult lives volunteering for their organization's purposes, and the vast majority have died faithfully and near-pennilessly while still under their legal 'vow of poverty'.

5. Amazingly, Jehovah's Witnesses did not splinter as a sect from some other religion. Instead, a truly tiny but sincere group of bible students studied only the Scriptures to determine the will of God. Thus their religion remains absolutely independent of and not carrying the sins of Christendom's history, yet carries the authority of Christ's teachings.

6. Despite the distortions of anti-Witnesses, throughout their modern history Jehovah's Witnesses have refused to claim divine inspiration or infallibility for their teachings. They have pointed to the bible (and not any particular translation) as the only inspired infallible means of knowing God's thoughts. For over 125 years, their teachings have been presented as merely the results of sincere bible research by imperfect but godly humans.

Last time I look there were too many to count. Easily 100+ sects including a big congomorate of those calling themselves "Born Again."

Each is trying to each Unity as they see it.

As an example. Most are not and probably will not be ordaining women to be congregational leaders (Priests and Ministers).

Some are ordaining them and the American Episcopals actually elected a Woman "head of the church" (kinda of like a Pope, but with less powers).

Now, you have to decide if that's a good thing or bad thing. Paul said in the Bible (and he's not Jesus) "Women are to be silent in Church" -- Go home and talk to your husbands about it, but say nothing in the Church.

You, as, a woman, have to decided which view you want to take. That Church and Religion is a man's realm or that Women have equal rights and equal access.

The Bible clearly makes women second class citizens, so this "new age" teaching is re-writing the Bible.

Once upon a time there was one view with the Catholic Church and only the Catholic Church and YOU were not allowed to QUESTION, you HAD to follow and the Catholic Church is definately NOT IN FAVOR of women being Priests.

These other ways came to offer another view of religion and how we pratise it.

There can be no total agreement in an imperfect world where people have free will.

When Jesus was on earth, the apostles constantly argued among themselves. After he went to heaven, there was no miraculous spell that suddenly made his disciples all agree about everything. Jews and Gentiles were deeply divided on several issues even as Paul and the apostles didn't always see eye to eye. On one occasion Paul even said that Peter "stood condemned." (Gal 2:11)

The only way to achieve "unity" is to have a central governing body which suppresses independent thinking and imposes harsh sanctions on dissenters. Shunning works pretty well for tightly controlled groups such as the Amish and Jehovah's Witnesses. If a person isn't willing to surrender his right to think for himself, often the threat of being cut off from his family and friends will keep him in check.

Christianity is the sect. I'm sure you meant denominations. If you claim to be a Christian then you believe Jesus was born of the virgin Mary died for our sins and was risen to be on the right hand of God, no matter what denomination you are this is the basic belief of Christianity. This is the most important part that gets you into heaven. Of course we must also have faith and show good works, cause even Satan believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Good question!

It's like this. Jesus prayed a prayer in John 17. He wanted the 'church' under Him, together. The thing is that we see the opposite occurring throughout history. So what's the beef? Did Jesus's prayer 'fall to the ground?' There everyone that is Christian can agree; Jesus is coming back. In that, I think that there is your answer! Who else to bring the unity not only in Christianity, but also in all other religions, all other religions are false. At least according to Jesus they are.

So who better to show that truth and bring unity to the people than Jesus the Christ? It is Him who will come back and set things in order. ( :

I don't know how many.Remember even Peter and Paul did not teach or believe the same.Peter chose communal life and thought only to teach to the Jews.Paul went out to the world and preached Christ first law second.Men are men and if we could do things right there would have been no need of Christ.

Christ likened his church unto his body. Each part of the body does its thing but together they are greater than any part.Maybe all the sects and divisions are only what you perceive from the perspective of your relative part.To Christ his body may function just as he wants it to.

Jesus replaced right into a Jew, definite. besides the indisputable fact that Jesus got here to coach human beings the version between faith and spirituality. faith is guy-made. What began out as ten user-friendly commandments grew to change into into the Torah, The Septuagint, and the Talmud with thousands of regulations and commandments. What made Jesus diverse replaced into that he spoke from a position of tangible understanding God in my opinion, a lot so as that He ought to call him Father. He lower than pressure a personal courting, not a continuation of the same hypocritical traditions that God would not honor besides.

Because Christendom professes itself to be christian. The Many sects will always be divided because they are not the religion of the one true God. Only his religion prospers in a United worship. True Christianity is one that is beyond color, race, language, and other differences.

What Is a Sect?

A sect has been defined as “a comparatively small recently organized exclusive religious body; esp[ecially]: one that has parted company with a longer-established communion.” According to another definition, a sect is “a dissenting religious body; esp[ecially]: one that is heretical in the eyes of other members within the same communion.”

Some claim that the word “sect” is derived from the Latin verb secare (to cut) and define a sect as a group that has broken away from an established church. Others trace the word “sect” back to the Latin verb sequi (to follow) and thus apply it to A GROUP THAT FOLLOWS A PARTICULAR HUMAN LEADER OR TEACHER.

IT IS the desire of Jehovah’s Witnesses that you become better acquainted with them. You may have met them as neighbors and fellow employees or in other daily affairs of life. You may have seen them on the street, offering their magazines to passersby. Or you may have spoken briefly with them at your door.

Actually, Jehovah’s Witnesses are interested in you and your welfare. They want to be your friends and to tell you more about themselves, their beliefs, their organization, and how they feel about people and the world in which all of us live. To accomplish this, they have prepared this brochure for you.

In most ways Jehovah’s Witnesses are like everyone else. They have normal problems—economic, physical, emotional. They make mistakes at times, for they are not perfect, inspired, or infallible. But they try to learn from their experiences and diligently study the Bible to make needed corrections. They have made a dedication to God to do his will, and they apply themselves to fulfill this dedication. In all their activities they seek guidance from God’s Word and his holy spirit.

It is of vital importance to them that their beliefs be based on the Bible and not on mere human speculations or religious creeds. They feel as did the apostle Paul when he expressed himself under inspiration: “Let God be found true, though every man be found a liar.” (Romans 3:4, New World Translation) When it comes to teachings offered as Biblical truth, the Witnesses strongly endorse the course followed by the Beroeans when they heard the apostle Paul preach: “They received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so.” (Acts 17:11) Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that all religious teachings should be subjected to this test of agreement with the inspired Scriptures, whether the teaching is offered by them or by someone else. They invite you—urge you—to do this in your discussions with them.

From this it is apparent that Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in the Bible as the Word of God. They consider its 66 books to be inspired and historically accurate. What is commonly called the New Testament they refer to as the Christian Greek Scriptures, and the Old Testament they call the Hebrew Scriptures. They rely on both of these, the Greek and the Hebrew Scriptures, and take them literally except where the expressions or settings obviously indicate that they are figurative or symbolic. They understand that many of the prophecies of the Bible have been fulfilled, others are in the course of fulfillment, and still others await fulfillment.

THE JW AREN"T A SECT OR A CULT. THEY WORSHIP ONLY GOD JEHOVAH. THEY FOLLOW ONLY THE BIBLE.

I like your question. There are so many sects today because people want to do things their way and not God's way. Man got away from the real principles and standards of God to please themselves in what they want to do. Just like Adam, disobedient and wanting to please himself. It is the same trait that came from him (that includes Eve too, they were one). Division is so prevalent because some people want to live according to God's word and some want a man-made religion where they can have God and a little bit of wordliness too. The bible says we cannot serve God and mammon, but most people try to do it anyway disobeying God's word. We cannot have unity if people want to do it their way, because their way is against God's way. And that causes division, and strife, and last but not least, many different religions. There is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism the bible says in Epesians 4:5, but man have sought out many inventions (Ecclesiastes 7:9).
