The corrupt people that are in India ( i am assuming you are talking about India ) were once the YOUTH of India.
What makes you think even for a second -- a micro-second --a fraction of a micro second think that you will make a dent in corruption ?
You only have control of your self-- so don't be greedy. That is about the best thing that you can hope for. And if everybody thinks the same way then more power to you.

India was corrupted by the British, and corruption was an alien term to Indians. In the begining, Indians were very honest and principled people, but the British came and spoilt all that, and the dose was so heavy, that it is in the blood, and it is an incurable desease now. It bred through generations of poverty and it milked the poor and still is, making the rich more richer and the nation suffers. I am sorry Aishwarya, there is not hope for us, as long as India is a poor country. We will first have to create abundance of wealth for the poor followed by sensible education, corruption will go away.

Yes by refusing to get corrupted. How many times have we been tempted to grease the hands of a local policeman who wanted to chalaan us, how many times have we bought the tickets to a movie show in black....small examples..but a NO is all that is needed to weed out corruption.
We talk about corruption and we talk about politicians and the likes, how about not littering the roads, respecting the public property...somebody in the West once told me...how come India resembles a dust bin...why come the roads and paths and streets are littered...given the fact that Indians are world renowned for the personal sense of hygiene.
Anyways, a revolution is not to be awaited, nor a Messiah who shall be heralded to come and save us. We have to change ourselves first in small ways and that shall be the end of corruption.
Bravo for posting such an intelligent question on yahoo!

No even youth also can't do any thing with our corruption. Because youth is part of corrupt society. I will give a suggestion to the youth. Let them group themselves and go to one government office at a time and spend some time there and see the officers and staff do the their job honestly with out taking any bribe for example insist the RTA officer to take the driving test from the person who came for driving license and issue DL only when that person is passed in the driving test. They can't do this because the first person refuse to co-operate is the guy who came for driving license. He wants his DL just like that with out any "janjat" so he is prepared to spend any money rather than go by the rule book. Nothing can be done to our corruption. It is has gone into our blood like cancer. No drug can cure it. Better live with till you die. That's it.

Dr Kalam would be happy to hear your question. Are you asking it after his exhortation to the youth? He asks youth to prevent their repsective elders at home not to be corrupt... He has confidence...
But the celebrated journalist-lawyer-dramatist-actor- writer Mr. Cho Ramasamy of Tuglak (popular Tamil weekly) says in answer to a question in his weekly (about this advice of our Rashtrapathi to the youth) that only the young and educated leaders and officers were more corrupt - suggesting that the confidence of the President on the youth in colleges was too innocent a thing...
But Sri Sathya Sai Baba grooms his students in his colleges excellently to take care of the future... the discipline and conduct in the campuses are extra ordinary... he adopts the Educare system - man making education - whereby the youth become excellent individuals, eschewing bad habits and dedicated to the service of humanity...
As such I feel that we must have the system of man-making education that Swamy Vivekananda dreamt of, instead of the bread-winning education we have now...The example of Sri Baba should be emulated by other universiities...
Then the youth will change the entire face of India - not only free from corruption, but in every other ethical sense ..

yes off-course,but firstly we all should know what is corruption.C'n is a conscience driven thing. If my conscience says that i should not accept bribe while executing my responsibility's and duties than no force in this world can tilt me and in this way i can reduce corruption. But this is something when AM on a responsible position and according to your question how youth can play a role in this situation ? what is the root cause of corruption ?lack of legal awareness, illiteracy.this can be reduced by educating the youth making themlegally aware and in this the youth can reduce corruption.

You can but there are a few things you'll have to do. One is educate yourself about the affairs of government. Some of you will have to step into leadership roles of that country. Take it seriously and consider that youre trying to represent the whole of the country not just the people whos thinking is in line with your own. Try to learn and grow with this role and make yourself a better person for your years of service. Have fun while youre doing it because you only get one life. When the time comes and you need fresh ideas and a new perspective, take them. Take advice willingly and humbly and provide accessible oppourtunities to those who want to help you.

ya surely, the thing is that we got to change the mind set of the rich youth first, they just enjoy the bread of a person who really deserves it...From school to job everywhere nowadays corruption is existing...firstly the parents should try to take an admission of their child in a deserved fashion without giving donation,etc..and more so in college, institution should stop giving admission to the undeserved persons..If corruption stops from school then only corruption can stop everywhere or else it is highly impossible..

THe person "liketoask" said the correct thing, you already have political families and you cannot make any difference to that.
You have to be born with a political name, like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul etc, you will automatically be able to change the face of India.
