well said , pal. I believe you are one of the very few in the US not been brainwashed to believe everything your government was telling you. In Europe we have a more balanced view of world affairs and it is not unusual for the BBC and some independent TV stations to unwrap any scandals that the British government was trying to cover up. you would never see that sort of things in Foxnews.

Settle Petal! Fair crack of the whip! You know I'd be one of the 1st people off the rank when it comes to yankee wowsing - but you're a bit out of line here. U gotta remember it was the cold war - anything connected to Communism was a big deal - it just got replaced by terrorism (you gotta give them agents SOMETHING to do). So, having said that the Americans just took over from the French that are renowned for f*****g everything they touch (historically speaking); u guys went in there with all the right intentions but didn/t have a clue. I mean people are still dying over there from Agent Orange - including a few Viet vets that I know over here. The whole thing was a farce - just as Iraq is now. There's that saying - "People don't learn from history; historically people just get worse".

"Peace interior the Mid east is a " pipe dream" and has never EXISTED and under no circumstances will. Democracy interior the mideast is a comic book tale." Is that correct? Democracy interior the middle East is a comic book tale? that's you who's ill with conceitedness. you imagine you're between the basically human beings more desirable adequate to deserve it? Are you larger than the individuals of the middle East? YOU crawl away, because the adult men and women of our military are not likely to attempt this. Wimpy, u . s . of america-hating dinks like you who needs the authorities to powder their butt and tuck them in at evening are the basically ones with desires of crawling away.

What would you do if you were in charge of the military? And base your answer on reality rather than a Utopian premise. If you were responsible for the performance of the military would you not try to find a way to honor those that served? And it is unfortunate that there are collateral deaths in wars. Consider what they were experiencing without a U.S. presence. They had it a helluva lot worse than anything you can imagine. And by the way, the last thing I want my military to worry about is pleasing people, they have a purpose that is necessitated by the wrong-doing of those in power of other nations.
You have the right to express your opinion.
You have the right to leave.
You've already exercised the first one.
Will you please do the latter?

Over 2.5 million South Vietnames, whom we supported, were murdered by the North Vietnames who were under communist rule when the US pulled out on Nam.
I hope that does not happen in Iraq.

You have to remember that the military considers them collateral damage, not human beings. As for heroes, it is not the military that makes them heroes, what makes them heroes is the fact that they accept danger and are put in harms way and just follow orders and do their jobs. Sometimes they did not even understand the reasons they were there. Blind trust and faith makes them hero's.

Yes. You can see it on the wall in Washington.
As far as there being nothing heroic about the US, why don't you move to a nice place like Mexico. Don't let yourself get caught up in the wave of so many people trying to sneak into the US. Why do they come? I guess they want to be a part of our unheroic nation.
If you don't like it here, get the *&^% out.

Having slogged my way though your rhetoric, I have to know: What exactly is your question? You appear to have answered it, unless it's the 3rd paragraph, in which case the answer is, no. Why would we?
