Take some benedryl. That'll combat the med in your system that's causing the swelling.

With hydrocodone, I'm thinking you should never take 4...but that's just me. If it doesn't start to go down in a few hours, (or especially if your throat is feeling tight or anything like that) go to the ER. You don't want it to cut off the blood flow to your brain.

~It could be your gums swelling. Can you tell if it's your lips or gums? I read the side effects and it only lists "swelling."

There are some really good answers on here. Definitely take Benadryl and at least call a pharmacist or an on-call nurse if your throat feels like it's closing up or you have trouble breathing.
I've only had a side effect like that with an antibiotic, not fun.

Anytime you take something new, start slow. Also, inform your doctor of other medications you're on. You can also read about interactions on the link below.
Hope everything works out for you.
Merry Christmas~

You've had an allergic reaction to Hydrocodone. For goodness sake don't take any more, but do take some Benedryl if you have it. The reaction can last as long as 24 hours.

I, too, am allergic to Hydrocodone - it makes me break out in a rash and causes swelling. Leave it alone!

This sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to the medication. You should take some Benadryl and never take it again. If you start feeling like your chest is hurting or you feel dizzy or like you can't breathe ,you will need to call an ambulance. Swollen lips are often the begining symptoms of an anaphalactic reaction. So pay attn to your body very closely.

It's not the hydrocodone. It's the infection in your gum. When the infection is gone the swelling will go.
