I spent last Christmas in Sharm el Sheik in Egypt.

At this time of year I cannot think of a better place to be. While its to cold to do anything in the UK at Christmas apart from sit at home eating brussel sprouts and watching the Queen's Speech, in Sharm the temperature averages 26 degrees centigrade this time of year with hardly any cloud cover.

Its absolutely heaving with people to (even Tony Blair has spent the last seven Christmasses in Sharm) and theres plenty to do. You can sunbathe, snorkel, scuba drive, go quad biking in the Sinai Desert, go on trips to Cairo and Luxor, play golf, go night clubbing, or just stay in your hotel and party with all the other guests.

Couldn't make it this year but I will definitely be going down there next Christmas. Highly recommended!!

At home with the loved ones, drinking wine and eating rich, fatty food. Then, to finish it all off, we would open our presents and watch a brilliant film on TV. Eventually, we would laugh and go to bed and wake up with a massive hangover!

In the Northeast of England, somewhere near Alnwick Castle, where I would hope for at least a dusting of snow.
